💖The date attempt💖

Luz had spent the week teaching Hunter how humans react to different ways of asking someone out, Luz also asked you if you like love letters, if you preferred formal dates or more chill ones, and all those questions. Hooty had been acting rather strange lately, going to the basement preparing something, looking at you like he looked at Luz and Amity, and just general questionable Hooty things. Then again, Hooty is questionable so you didn't question it. 

"Okay, so, if she asks you if she looks okay before the date you say?" Luz quizzes.

"That she looks wonderful and she's perfect no matter what she wears." Hunter responds quickly. Luz nods in response.

"And where do you plan to take her?" Luz questions.

"A picnic at a clearing in the woods, then I'll turn on human music and we can dance until she gets tired, and at that point I'll walk her back to The Owl House here you'll be waiting to let her in." Hunter responds with a slight smile.

"Good, you're almost ready, now how will you ask her out?" Luz asks. Hunter looks lost in thought for a second.

"You will take her out here where I'll be waiting, once she sees me I'll say, "y/n, would you go on a date with me tomorrow at 6?" Without my mask on." Hunter responds hesitantly. Luz nods and glances back toward the owl house where you're playing with King.

"Alright, you're ready, this plan goes in to action tomorrow, good luck Hunter." Luz says happily. Hunter smiles back and nods, he teleports into a tree to watch the adorable play fight between you and King. Luz walks back to the owl house hoping you don't ask where she was.

"Luz, why did you go in the forest alone?" You ask. "Dang it" Luz thought. She suddenly got nervous and said, "no where, hahaha, why would I go in to the forest alone?" Luz mentally facepalmed, you didn't ask where she went, you asked why. You looked at her questioningly, but then King marched inside demanding cookies. Complying to his demands you follow and Luz follows you, happy that you didn't suspect anything. 

Timeskip

Hooty gave you a note, which you read, and it said

"Come to where no one goes

For who you believe to be your foe

Awaits your arrival below the floor

Just open the door" (yes it sucks, I know)

"The basement?" You questioned. Luz comes behind you and reads the note her eyes get as wide as dinner plates.

"Go, now!" She yells at you. You look at her with a questioning stare for what feels the 50th time today, and rush downstairs into the basement as she urged you. Once you get down there you see a bundle of leaves sticks and bugs. You of course are very disgusted. Suddenly the bundle starts moving and you get a glyph ready. Goldie pops out seemingly scarred for life.

"Goldie? What happened to you?" You asked, highly concerned. His eyes get wide and he goes on to ramble about bird tubes, and basements. "Woah, slow down, I didn't get a word of that, repeat your self slower please." You say politely, clearly he's been through a lot.

He takes a deep breath and says, "That bird tube on your door ate me, and now I'm here. Also if we could just forget the whole thing that happened last week-"

"All I care about is how Hooty managed to get you down here without you realizing you had been eaten by him, but let's get you out before Eda decides to go harpy on you." You say quickly, cutting him off intentionally.

"Harpy on me?" Goldie questions.

"Yeah, hard to explain, but let's get you out of here." You say, you walk over to him and suddenly, a trapdoor activates below you both. You both fall and grab each other for dear life. You fall into a container full of hear pillows. Your eyes go wide. You know this. Luz told you about the tunnel of love which got her an Amity together. Was this Luz's idea? "Curse you Hooty!" You yell, knowing Hooty was listening. 

"Why exactly?" Goldie asks. 

"No reason hahaha... ha..." you laugh nervously. You both get up from the pile of pillows and a note falls from the ceiling, Goldie grabs it and reads it aloud. 

"To return to the world above make you way through the tunnel of... love?" Goldie questions, "What's a tunnel of love?" Suddenly, before you can respond, the lights turn on. Sappy music starts playing and you bury your head in your hands. 

"That. It's a human thing for couples." You explain. Clearly pained by the idea of it's existence. Suddenly the boat Hooty grabs you both and places you in it very very close. You both scoot away as fast as you can. "Looks like Hooty found a few romantic human movies and made this monstrosity."

Goldie and yourself were so red it made the tunnel look dull in color. The first sign that came up was "I think you're beautiful, lively, and kind y/n!" Goldie made a noise that sounded like a squeak of fright. Your mouth dropped open and you stared at that until your cheeks were even more red than before. Then when you looked over in Goldie's side there was a sign that said "Goldie bee mine!" With a bunch of bees around it, you knew Goldie saw it too because he froze. You made a noise of despair. Then a Cupid Hooty shot arrows out and some of them were going for your head and Goldie pushed you to the side of the boat to make sure they didn't hit you. You were now closer than an inch apart. You both could feel the other's breath on you. Goldie scooted back as fast as he could yet again. You seemed frozen in time. Then you managed to look in the water and one of the notes said "you're a cutie" referencing when Hunter first met you. You looked on Goldie's side and one said, "you're my golden guard" which of course was the one Goldie saw. Hooty must've stolen your diary, because that was your handwriting. You knew that was the one he saw because he picked it up as he thought you weren't looking and put it in his pocket. 

"Y/n, I know this is rather sudden but I feel there won't be a better time than this to do it so, would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow?" Goldie asks with his eyes clenched shut.

"I thought you'd never ask, of course I will Goldie!" You exclaim, "but one request first, what is your name?"

"Hunter, but I'd prefer you call me mine" Hunter flirts fearlessly. With that comment you retreat into a ball like form and let out a squeak which makes Hunter laugh. Hooty and Luz were watching from the entrance which you both were about to be at, smiling and Luz says to Hooty, "Two for two, now you just have to get Eda a special somebody."

"Yes ma'am!" Hooty responds.

As he slowly gets closer neither of you notice Hooty or Luz, Hunter grabs your chin to make you face him and he kisses you. Your brain goes fuzzy. Hunter, the golden guard, your crush, is kissing you. After you breakaway Luz squeals and Hooty is laugh crying. 

"How long were you two there?" You ask.

"Long enough to see that you two are gonna be the cutest couple in all of the boiling isles!" Luz responds and you sigh. This will be a fun adventure for both of you.
