Chapter 18

On the way, the men followed and shot her. "Don't kill her! Just slow her down," Dolas shouted.

Eri ran and tried to dodge as many bullets she could. Eri was very formidable, but then again, she was only human.

She made it quite far, very close to Jennet's residence. From so much blood loss, her body had lost almost all energy and she fainted. By chance, Silas and Tallie were near.

"Silas!" Tallie yelled, tapping on his shoulder, "It's Eri!"

Silas instantly ran to Eri's aid.

"You're bleeding like crazy," Silas said, sniffling. "Yeah, but I'm okay," Eri said with a light smile, while softly touching Silas's face.

Tallie grabbed on side of Eri while Silas grabbed the other. Eri was badly injured. They shot her everywhere: her legs, her arms, and her stomach. No where vital, though.

As they were walking, a bullet flew pass them.

"Thought you could escape me? Think again!" Dolas yelled, angrily.

"Tallie, run far from here!" Silas demand. "What about you?!" Tallie asked. "Don't worry about me," Silas said, "Just go!"

"No!" Eri screamed.

Tallie was apprehensive about this, but Eri was bleeding to death and needed to be somewhere safe.

"Tallie, stop! If you leave Silas he'll die!" Eri cried.

As they were running, they've been shot. Mostly Tallie. She used herself as a shield to protect Eri.

"Tallie!" Eri screamed, almost losing her voice.

"Tallie, leave! Leave me here. Both you and Silas flee. This is futile, you'll die," Eri stated. Tallie ignored Eri and kept running.

While running, Eri kept using what was very little of her energy to slow Tallie down.

Once reaching far enough, Tallie dropped Eri on the floor. She pulled in and their lips touched, sharing a kiss. Eri's lips were trembling as they made contact with Tallie's.

Leaving a bewildered expression on Eri's face, Tallie then slapped her.

"Eri!" She started, "I love you. I have for a while. Silas and I, we love you. We wanna save you. Please, allow us to save you," Tallie cried.

"W-what?" Eri stammered.

Tallie picked Eri up placing her back on her shoulder continuing to run.

Fools, idiots! Why would you risk so much for my sake? Eri thought, as tears slid down her face.

Time passed, and Tallie took Eri to their hideout.

Jennet busted out running yelling, "Eri!" Then, hugged Eri, hard.

"Oh, my gosh! Are you alright?" Jennet asked, temporarily pulling away to check Eri, then hugging her again.

"Yes, I am, but Silas..."

"Is he...?" Jennet started.

"No, but he decided to stay and distract them while Eri and I escaped," Tallie explained.

"What? That was very reckless!" Jennet said, rubbing her forehead.

They settled Eri in and treated her wounds. "Rest up," Jennet said, kissing Eri's forehead.
