- Journal Entry 1, September 12th, 2029:
My name is Quinn Bates. I'm 17 years old and currently living in Texas. At this moment, I am in the car with my parents, my older sister Eliza and my younger brother Ethan, heading out of Texas towards Maine. We have been told that that area of the United States was safe, and that the virus has yet to reach it. I say virus, but it's currently unknown what it actually is. The only thing we know is that it all started in California and is quickly spreading. First, we had gotten calls and alerts on our phones, telling us to leave and head as far East as we could go and as soon as possible. Then, federal agents had come to our town and quickly started ushering families out of their homes and into their cars. Everything that we currently know is from the news and videos posted on social media. So that's how we ended up here; sitting in traffic on interstate 10, hoping that whatever is happening will pass.
