Dante's New Life

Hello. My name is Dante and by day I am a brown haired boy with amber eyes while by night I am a green wolf with red eyes and normally I live in a white room which was why I currently have no idea where I am. I mean It appears to be some kind of lab but I don't recognize it maybe my scientist changed labs? I frowned as I shook my head and then I huffed because I didn't like this place it was odd and different and filled with weapons but even so I knew better than to complain. I didn't want to be hit with the hurt stick after all. I shuddered before a man walked in. I smiled as I recognized him. Jack. He was the nice one and he had never hurt me. "Jack!" I called to him and he frowned and put a finger to his lips which confused me at first but then I figured it was probably another lesson so I quieted down and laid low. He just shook his head before walking up to the cage and kneeling. "Dante. My wife and children don't know your here yet so do you think you can be quiet for me?" I nodded and then something occurred to me. I didn't know what a wife was and Jack had never been one to not answer my questions so I spoke up "Your wife?" He nodded "My partner." My eyes widened in understanding at that and I nodded because that meant his wife was yet another scientist and his children must be their experiments. I yawned which was when I realized that my room was empty. Great. I wondered briefly what I did wrong before going into a corner to take a nap. I mean it wasn't like I had anything better to do.

It was barely an hour later when I heard a woman shout "JACK! YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!" I looked up just in time to see a woman wearing blue storm down the stairs and freeze. I yawned again and then I curled up since this was nothing new. The scientist were always arguing about something. I watched lazily as Jack followed her down and stood in front of my cell. "Easy Mads! I mean look! The kid has nowhere else to do and they were just about to dissect him since apparently he failed their little gauntlet they were doing since he's too 'Soft'" He growled the last part and I was surprised now and I stood up. "Jack. You don't have to get in trouble for me." I whispered and he looked back with a smile "Don't worry Dante. Maddie won't hurt me." I frowned at this "But isn't she a scientist? I mean isn't that what everyone but you does?" He sighed "We are scientist but we aren't the Guys in white, Dante." I stared in confusion and then Maddie crossed her arms and pinched her nose and then the lights were flickered on and I turned invisible. Jack stared at my container for a moment before turning back to Maddie. "Please? Just give him one chance." I watched as Maddie gave him a long stare before groaning "UGH! FINE! But he does not leave the container." Jack nodded and then they left and the lights flickered back off. Not like it mattered to me. I had lived my whole life in a container and so I merely went back to bed.

It was night time when I awoke next. Someone had come down the stairs. I looked up to see a ghost with green eyes staring at me in shock and I immediately sounded the alarm by rearing my head and howling at top volume to call Jack. "JACCCKKKK!!!! INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT!" I cried as loudly as possible and the ghost immediately ran for his life and I scratched my back legs against the bottom glass to mark my territory as Jack and Maddie both came charging down the stairs. I shot Jack a look before pointing my snout upwards and he immediately griped "Gah! Almost had em!" Meanwhile Maddie gave me a very curious look so Jack explained "He was trained by the Guys in white originally to take down Phantom and to alert of any ghostly intruders." I barked at this because it was Phantom! That's who I saw! I scratched at the glass while whining and Jack laughed before taking out a very familiar translating device. I beamed before telling him what happened "I saw Phantom! He came down here and stared at me! Now release me so I can hunt him!" Jack immediately shook his head. "No can do. Sorry Dante but you gotta stay in there. Although... I will make you a button so that the next time you see Phantom you can alert us quieter okay?" I nodded fiercely and then I started pacing the cell. I was so hyped! I saw my prey! I grinned and yelped a few times before rubbing my body against the glass to further mark that this space was mine. I didn't even realize that Maddie and Jack had left I was so preoccupied. Although I did notice it when Skulker came through the portal and I burst into song yet again and the ghost actually stared at me in disgust. I merely snarled at him since to be honest. I had absolutely no respect for other ghosts. I mean they were just ectoplasmic scum right? I was clearly better as I was half human therefore not scum and so I snarled and then Maddie and Jack came down just in time to see Skulker leave and I yelped. Which was when Maddie closed the portal and Jack laughed "Well. At least we got to see one this time!" Maddie nodded and I went back to bed. It had been a good day and maybe tomorrow they would let me hunt my prey.
