SIX

GRANDMA ROSE was at the Davenport residence, and Kate Grey had no choice but to show up. She absolutely adored Leo's grandmother, having never been close to any of her parents mothers, Rose somewhat adopted her as her own granddaughter. It was similar to how Tasha and Leo saw her as family.

When she arrived at her new—somewhat of a home, she almost fell off her bike with anticipation. The blonde ran up to the front door, leaving a few harsh knocks, before forcing her way through it.

She practically knocked down the door just trying to make her presence known, and immediately ran into the arms of the older woman.

Rose pulled away with a motherly smile, squeezing Kates cheeks. "You've gotten so big." She squealed, admiring how grown up she was starting to look.

Scoffing from the couch, Leo straightened his posture to sit up right. "No she hasn't. She's extremely short." He observed, flailing his hands in her direction.

His grandmother swatted his hands away, sending him a glare, before turning back to Kate with a smile. She placed her hands on the younger girls shoulders, still smiling at her.

"How have you been, Honey?" She asked. "You been good? Staying out of trouble, I hope."

Kate laughed lightly at her comment, squinting her face and shrugging. "Well..." Her voice went up a few octaves, making it quite clear to Rose, that she hadn't in fact; been staying out of trouble.

Rose nudged her shoulder back, shaking her head with a chuckle. "As long as you're friends with that little menace," She signalled her hands towards her grandson, who was running circles around Adam. "I don't think you'll ever be able to stay out of trouble."

"You have no idea." Kate sighed, watching her best friends childish behaviour.

Grandma Rose softly tapped her shoulder, before leaving her in the middle of the living room, to go find her daughter.

Joining in on Leo's odd—usual for him, behaviour, Adam jumped up and down in fake distraught. "Kate, save me!" He dramatically waved his hands in the air with a wide smile.

Kate smiled back at him, running over and tackling him to the floor with a loud bang. She tumbled over him as they fell, landing directly at Chase's feet. He hovered over her, his hands on his hips while wearing a confused smirk. "Falling for me, now?" He joked.

"Just couldn't help myself." She mused, taking the hand he offered her, and standing up. She dust off her legs, making sure to get any stray dirt off her jeans, and sneakily reached for a pillow on the couch.

With a cheeky smile tugging at her lips, she swung the small cushion directly at Chase's torso. He stumbled backwards at the impact, grabbing the cushion right out of her grasp whilst mirroring her smile. Copying her intentions, he threw the pillow at her head, causing her to dramatically fall back on the couch.

She crossed her arms over chest, interlocking her fingers and pretending she was dead. Her eyes were closed, and she tried her best to refrain from smiling in amusement, and break her cover.

Chase laughed at her childlike manner, and got ready to pounce on the blonde—to wrestle her of course.

Strutting back into the room, Rose held a look of terror as she watched the four teenagers in front her, act out in such a childish behaviour. Bree followed after her, trying her very best to convince her to join her in a workout—but the older woman wasn't having any of it.
