❝ I'll meet you where we began ❞
A bright, sunny day greeted Jungkook on his way to the bus stop. Today was the day that he first met Seokjin or at least the one he believes to be Yeonjin. He would return there every year in the hope that they would meet again. Usually Jungkook goes there at night, since he met Yeonjin at that time, and nobody else is around. But this time is different, he decided to go early in the morning, because he had nothing to do anyway. With his black hat and black mask on, Jungkook would not be recognisable to fans.
As Jungkook neared the bus stop, he noticed that there wasn't many people there. It just seemed strange since it's Monday and he expected that many passengers would be waiting. He felt like this time was meant to be his to come there.
A calm Jungkook sat in one of the waiting chairs, slid down his mask, and tasted the fresh air. He smiled, but then soon faded away as the clouds began to cry. He didn't bring any umbrella, and he also forgot his phone, which meant that he would be going home wet.
Jungkook decided to wait for the rain to stop, but he's still waiting after almost one hour. He thought it would be a good idea to go home now, as his friends are probably getting worried about him.
When he was about to get up and leave, he saw a car approaching the bus stop. He hadn't seen that type of car in the company, so it was definitely not for him.
The car stopped in front of Jungkook, and his jaw dropped when he saw Jin get out of the passenger's seat door. Jungkook was even more surprised when Jin went to the driver's window and patted the driver's hair.
"So this is why you're busy huh?" Jungkook rolled his eyes as he watched the two happily smile at each other.Jungkook was delighted when the girl finally drove away, leaving Jin at the bus stop. Jin's smile was replaced by astonishment when he turned around and saw Jungkook. "H-Hey Jungkook, I didn't see you there."
"Of course, you were busy flirting with that girl." Jungkook thought, attempting not to roll his eyes once more.
"Who was that hyung?" Jungkook asked, slightly annoyed.
"Uh-Oh, that was my brother's girlfriend." Jin didn't know, but he felt like he was caught up in an act.
"Then why are you two together? don't tell me..." It didn't make sense to him, like how could they be together? That was Jin's brother's girlfriend, and they were cheating behind his back? Jungkook became even more annoyed. He has no idea why he is acting like this, Jin is not his business, he can do as he pleases, Jungkook doesn't care.
"No, no, it's not what you're thinking. Actually, today marks the 6th anniversary of the death of my brother. Every year, his girlfriend would pick me up and we would go to the grave together. After that, she would take me here to the bus stop." Jin explained, and Jungkook nearly slapped himself for assuming the worst before knowing the truth.
"I'm sorry, hyung." Jungkook looked down, feeling guilty. We shouldn't judge others based on what we only see, as we don't know what exactly is at the bottom of anything.
"It's okay, Jungkook. If I were you, I would also think the same way." Jin smiled, and this was enough to make Jungkook smile as well.
"Hyung, why does she have to bring you here every year?" If she had a car, why would she let Jin commute, considering his fame and many fans would seek him out.
"Umm, because this was my brother's last wish, before he died." said Jin, while reaching out his hand and letting raindrops fall on it.
Jungkook didn't say anything, he just nodded. It was strange for him, but now that he looked at Jin, he realized that maybe there was a reason behind that wish.
"My brother had a cancer. The night before he died, he told me that every year I should go here no matter what. I laughed even though I was crying at that time, and asked him what the reason is. He just smiled and replied "Trust me, you'll find happiness there."." Jin said as he stares straight ahead, not looking at Jungkook.
"After an entire year, I am still unable to believe that I lost my brother. I finally had my first drama, so busy did I become that I forgot that it was already the first anniversary of my brother's death. Because of my hectic schedule, I was pondering whether or not to come here. I wanted to, but I couldn't.
I was finally able to come here on the occasion of his second death anniversary. It was morning that time, but it seemed odd because there were no commuters. I began to wonder if perhaps that was my brother's doing so I will not have much trouble blending into the crowd.
"Trust me, you'll find your happiness there." I waited almost two hours here and still haven't found happiness, so I just laughed since he was probably just playing games with me.
I decided to go home and looked around for a taxi. Right when I was about to stand up, my jacket got tangled with one of the posters. I turned around and I saw your picture, It was your debut announcement." With tears in his eyes, he looked at Jungkook who were already looking at him.
"Hyung, maybe your brother is right. What if he knows something about which you do not know? Maybe he has his own reasons, and you must find out what they are. As you said, you waited here for two hours, but hyung you need to be patient. The longer you wait, the sweeter the feeling. Perhaps your heart has already found happiness, but your mind hasn't yet recognized it." Continuing to stare at Jin, Jungkook stated.
There was no word exchanged, just staring into each others eyes as a million thoughts were rushing through their heads all while they looked into one anothers souls. Like two people in love, alone, isolated from everything else. Jin doesn't know what Jungkook sees that holds him, but he can't look away, either.
Jin shook his head and broke the stare-off as he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket.
"Hyung..."
"Yes?"
"We have the same handkerchief...not the color, but the design.." Jungkook said as he pointed to the handkerchief Jin was holding. Of course he has it. After all, his handkerchief was from him, right?
"Really? My brother made this for me. It has a pink pair as well, but I can't remember where I placed it." Jin replied and that left the younger sad. Has he forgotten Jungkook?
"The rain has already passed. I'm sorry, but I have to go." Jungkook said as he set out to run, not caring what Jin said behind him.
