Wilbur and Phil sat on Wilbur's bed. Wilbur had brought his knees to his chest.
"Soo... What did you want to talk about?" he asked.
"Will, you told me that smoking and drinking helped you forget about voices and... me. Can you tell me what you mean?"
Wilbur was just about to deny everything when he heard...

Violet was going crazy and, to be honest, it worked. He felt a lot better. He felt good enough to maybe try to tell Phil what was up.
"Well.... I've got these voices in my head telling me... stuff...", Wilbur felt like he was just reliving that moment with Techno.
"What kind of stuff?" Okay yeah, this is basically ctrl c ctrl v of the conversation with Techo.
"That I'm not good enough. Whatever I do, I'm not good enough", Wilbur took a deep breath.
"That I can never make you proud"
Wilbur looked away, scared of his father's reaction. Suddenly he felt himself being engulfed in a big hug.
"Oh Wilbur, I'm sorry I didn't know", he whispered in Wilbur's ear, while combing his fingers through his son's hair. "I am so proud of you. You make me proud every day", Wilbur's eyes widened, and broke away from the hug.
"Wait, really?" he said, his eyes full with tears. Phil's eyes widned.
"Didn't you know?" he asked.
"No I- You've never told me. I've been up nights studying just to make you proud, and even that didn't seem to be enough", Wilbur said, looking away. Phil started hugging him again.
"I am so sorry I made you feel like I wasn't proud of you. I'm so sorry I never told you", he whispered in Wilbur's ear while starting combing through his son's hair again. Wilbur smiled. Maybe, maybe...
He was enough.
