"Zaela Krisse Williams," Professor Payne called. All heads turned to me.

What? I asked them using my eyes. Then I turned to Professor then gave him the same what-look, but more genuine and kind.

He stood. "Good job, miss Williams. You got the highest rank on our essay-writing test last week." He looked down at his stack of papers and then he shrugged. "It seems Camille went down as the fifth topnotcher, and you taking the first place." Then he lifted my essay in the air, showing that I had an A+, before giving it to me.

All eyes on me. But what I could only notice was Camille's killer eyes. I gave a smirk to myself.

Camille Vern was the queen bee. And that only meant she can hold all the students against me. I once saw her trash-talking an innocent girl. They said the girl was kissed by Camille's former boyfriend that's why Camille bullied her. But who had the fault? It's Camille's ex, right? If he didn't kiss the innocent girl, there wouldn't be a problem. Camille is always the top, either fame and beauty or intelligence. Everyone looks up to her.

"Okay," prof said. "You may now sit." And I followed what he said.

I looked up. As if I knew I would see the eyes of Camille, slowly killing me. Prof started saying names again giving their papers, along with comments. Either compliments or its opposite. I shifted my position into a more relaxing one. I held my paper.

Nice grade, I thought. And I turned to Camille who stood after her name was called. And yeah, great. She could turn the whole world against me.

I really hoped she wouldn't do anything to me after this. Or else, I'd be damned. Then my reputation will be ruined. As well as my family's. And that would be completely embarassing, espacially in the eyes of my parents and their business partners.

"Before I dismiss the class," prof said as he was standing. "I want you to know I expected a lot from half of you. I only got what I was expecting on the following students," he said as he lifted a piece of paper in front of him and read. "Zaela Williams, Aileen Cars, Ian Vergan, and Jack Pillar. I'm rechecking if I could, as well, pick Camille. Her past two essays were not quite pleasing. For everyone, except the four students I mentioned, please study your essay and know what's wrong with it and practice more."

"Yes sir," they said over each other's voice.

"For the four top students, proceed to my office room," he added. "Class dismissed."

The pack of students ran off the room after prof got out. I went to the nearest stall first for a milk shake. I didn't take much lunch. After that, I proceed to his office. Everybody was already there. Waiting.

I opened the glass door. "Sorry, I'm late--"

"Call Ms. Vern," Prof said.

What? I thought. She's the last girl I want to talk to, seriously sir.

"I have some things to do for the rest," he said as he pointed the Aileen, Ian, and Jack. "You go call her. Be back as soon as possible." I have no choice but to obey him. Dang it.

I went to find Camille. I asked a few students I know if they've seen her. And the fourth or fifth student I asked said she saw her going to the bathroom just a few seconds ago. So I headed through the bathroom she pointed.

I saw Camille cleaning her smudged make-up. "Fvck. Why are you here?" she asked arrogantly. Well, maybe her question comes with a command. Simply, she wants me to go away.

"Professor Payne wants me to call you," I said, hiding my irritation. Yeah, I'm irritated by her tone.

"Darn professor. Was he trying to say I wasn't good enough? If yes, I was really embarassed," she said while she was finishing her make-up.
