Twilight Prankster did it.
An unknown number of years earlier.."Mama? Why do you look sad?"
This question was asked quite often by the Talpaedan whenever he helped his human mother during chores on the planet of Regalis 12.
"Oh?" The beautiful woman who wore a dress and apron, with a beautiful head of black hair and a serene face would turn to look at the small alien who was so much larger than all the other native children of the planet. "Did I look sad to you Andreas?"
"Hmmm.. a little?" said Andreas. "Andreas think you look lonely."
"Well perhaps I am a little sad because I miss somebody." said the woman cheerily as she patted the armored head of the little alien. "He went far away and never came home. But lonely? Now don't be silly. I have you don't I?"
"Yes." said Andreas. "Mommy.. I don't want to go to school today."
"Why not?" The woman tilted her head thoughtfully.
"They say mean things to Andreas. Andreas no like." said Andreas. "A-Andreas want to hurt them.. b-but.."
"Honey listen to me. What those children do is not right, but you must remember that you're much stronger than many people out there. " said the woman. "You must learn to be responsible for that strength. Promise me.. someday that strength will be used to help others. But when that day comes it must be used to protect, not to destroy."
The little alien nodded his head. "Y-yes mommy."
Present day.
"Are you okay? Ribbit? You're giving me a rather strange look."
The massive Andreas blinked as he came back to reality, the frog-like wide human eyes of Asui blinking back at him.
"O-oh!" Andreas stammered, his massive body causing the floor to rumble as he turned away, sitting himself down on the large metal bench on the main bridge of the space station, his tail thumping nervously. "Me.. Andreas.. sorry.. i.. it just.."
"Ribbit?" Asui blinked some more as a crew member passed her a roll of bandages.
"You pretty.." Andreas blushed and twiddled his large biomechanical thumbs. "S-so.. Andreas stare.. Andreas sorry Ms. Asui."
"I see." said Asui with a smile. "Ribbit. Call me Tsu, all my friends do."
"Ts-Tsu? Wait. We friends?"
"Of course." said Asui.
"Tsu.. Tsu is friend." said Andreas as he held up one of his large hands up.
"Hold still ya giant lug!" muttered Ra'ad as he floated near Andreas's shoulder. "It's tough enough getting these bandages on when you move."
"He'll be okay right?" Ben asked from where he sat as Kyoka Jiro, her waist wrapped in gauze, wrapped a few bandages around Ben's head.
"Talpaedans are resilient, he'll be fine." Tetrax stepped over. "In the meantime, we need to focus on getting all of you patched up. Bivalvan, are you sure we're safe in here?"
