Christmas Wishes

A/N Sorry, but this will be the last chapter in this book, more about this at the bottom!

Narrator's P.O.V

Artemis, Luna and Butler fly back to Scotland and drop Luna back at Piper's Avenue. Over the next few months leading to December, Artemis goes into slight depression, but keeps it from his family. Meanwhile, Luna keeps talking about how much she wants to go to Ireland to her Mum...

Artemis's P.O.V

Christmas Day. 25th of December. I still feel empty inside. I haven't felt anything much since I dropped Luna off her house. I go downstairs to find Mother waiting for me beside the Christmas tree. I get the usual gifts, psychology books, a screwdriver set, etc. I notice that Butler isn't here. I wonder where he is. Suddenly, the doorbell rings. I turn to Mother, "Are we expecting anyone?" I ask, "Not just anyone. Go and open the door." She hints. What is she up to? I open the door to find a very tall box, wrapped in shiny red wrapping paper and a yellow ribbon. There's a heart-shaped note attached. It says;

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

You know me,

And I know you.

Right. Not at all creepy or suspicious.

Luna's P.O.V

I got a plane ticket to Ireland! All of my dreams have come true! And two even better things! One, Mother has already arranged with Angeline (Artemis's Mother) for me to come over, and two; I'm going by myself!

When I arrive, Butler is already there to prepare me. If you don't know what I mean, I'm going to surprise Artemis by being the best Christmas gift ever! I handwrite a note on the box and jump in. I've also heard that he got into a bit of an argument with a Mister Jon Spiro. This might be entertaining.

Butler rings the doorbell at Fowl Manor. I get into character. I hear footsteps. They come towards me, then stop for a bit. "Butler! Please bring this into the house!" I hear Artemis call. I suddenly feel myself being lifted and moving. When I am put down, I begin the Act.

I put on a deep American accent and growl, "Well, hello there, little Artemis Fowl. So nice to see you again." I hear two people jumping. "Butler, remove this package at once." I hear Artemis try to keep a calm voice, but notes of panic still came through. I just had to laugh.

"Luna? Oh god, don't scare me like that." Next, the wrapping is torn off and the sharp edge of a box-cutter slices through the cardboard keeping me captive, "Oi, careful with that! You almost cut my head open, you numbskull!" I mock-shout at him as I sit up, "LUNA!" Artemis squeezes me so hard, I saw stars, "ArE yOu TrYiNg To StRaNgLe Me?" I manage, even though I'm probably hugging back just as hard as him.

~ONE WEEK LATER~

After a whole week of pure bliss, it was time to go back to Dundee. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed to go back home. A day before I have to leave, Artemis brings me to the plane where we had the 'Lovebird Incident'

Then, he pushes me against a wall, flattening me with his body. "I believe you owe me something." He purrs. He leans closer, our noses are touching. We both know what's coming next. Our lips make contact. Fireworks explode in my heart. Our eyes flutter closed. His arms snake around my waist, I tangle my hands in his hair, playing with it, being thankful that he didn't put any hair-gel in.

For the first time since I became known as 'Prosperina' the hacker, I feel something other than guilt.

I feel loved.

We break apart, gasping for air. "Did you know that the Greek goddess Artemis, is also the goddess of the moon?" Artemis whispers, "Yes. Did you know that our moon is called Luna?" I whisper back. He nods. I smile, "What's so funny?" he demands, "What's so funny is that that is probably the closest we'll get to having a real romantic conversation." I chuckle. He scowls, I scowl back.

I can already tell that we are a match made in Heaven.
