A/N: God I wish I could have put this out on Halloween.

Elizabeth marked off the day on the calendar with a thoughtful hum getting the attention of Edward and Jacob who were reading in the den when she walked in the room.

"What's up?" Jacob asked glancing up from his book briefly. Knowing that hum meant she wanted him to ask.

"I've been think about Halloween next week." Elizabeth said and Jacob look up again this time in realization. Was it already that time of year?

He felt a small pulse of excitement. Halloween was his favorite holiday after all. It was the one holiday he threw his all in every year. It was just so much. For a single night everyone could truly be whatever they wanted to be. Jacob helped a lot of people growing up do that. He had gotten so into his costumes as a kid that he even started getting really into Halloween make up. So much so he practiced months leading up to the actual holiday to be sure his costumes were the best they could be. He had to start early after all since such costumes weren't cheap to build and honestly very time consuming. It paid off though. His costumes were real master pieces after a while.

So much so that others on the reserve started coming to him to get their make up done for Halloween night and parties. Jacob only ever help his friends though. Make up like that took time to put on which meant he was limited in how many people he could help. So, it was always just himself, Quil, and Embery who looked the best that time of year.

"Thinking of having a party this year too?" Edward asked. His Mother didn't have a Halloween party every year. As it made them more exclusive to be unpredictable. It also gave her even more time to plan and save up for them.

"Yes... no... I'm not sure. I was thinking maybe just a small one this time. Something between just our family and Diana's?" Elizabeth said. She missed having her friend over so much. Now that their boys got along better it was much easier to have one another over. Besides, she liked giving her friend more opportunities to ask Jacob advice in person. The two always tended to go off together and talk for a while when she came over.

"That sounds nice. Something on a smaller scale would be a pleasant change. I'm sure father would appreciate it as well." Edward said smiling up at his mother at the idea. Loving the thought of not having to deal with all those debutants this year.

"Yes... it would be nice. It would also make my parties seem even more exclusive. What do you think Jacob? Big party or small gather?" Elizabeth asked. She valued the opinion of everyone in her household. Jacob smiled up at her casually.

"I'm sure I'll find a way to enjoy myself regardless of what you pick." Jacob joked and Elizabeth rolled her eyes at him with a small smile. Edward chuckled softly to himself not even bothering to look up from his book.

"I'm sure you will." Elizabeth said before thinking a while longer.

"Well, I guess it's settled then. Small party it is. I'll need to start thinking up some plans." Elizabeth said the boys going back to reading. That is until she stopped just before leaving the room before sitting down between them on the sofa with a smile up at Jacob. Jacob and Edward both looked up at her questioningly.

"Yes?" Jacob asked cautiously. Knowing that look could be nothing but trouble. Elizabeth's smile widened.

"Oh don't act surprised! You've had the best party ideas since coming here. We absolutely love the things from your home. So, go on! Give up all the secrets!" Elizabeth said making a show of straightening her dress and getting comfortable for a long conversation. Jacob was about to speak when she raised her hand at him.

"Oh wait!" She said before running off to the kitchen really quick. They heard some clattering of the utensil drawers before she came rushing back in with a pen and note pad. She sat down again and poised to write.
