Question 36: Share a personal problem and ask your partner's advice on how he or she might handle it. Also, ask your partner to reflect back to you how you seem to be feeling about the problem you have chosen.

Kurt stirred in bed and Blaine pinned him down.

"Feeling better?"

"I feel like I have a hangover."

"I suppose that's normal."

Actually, Blaine had no idea how Kurt must be feeling. Was he remembering his childhood and the lost of his mother? Blaine was also worried about Burt, but he couldn't let Kurt see it. He should be strong for his fiancé.

Kurt was roaming the house like a zombie. He barely slept and only ate when Blaine forced him. He spoke to Burt every day and assured him everything was just fine. After he hung up, there was a crying session.

Today, after the phone call, Blaine was there to hug him and make him feel better. Kurt lay his head in his lap and said:

"I have bad news."

"More?"

Kurt began to rub his temple. Blaine started to massage his fiancé's scalp. Kurt relaxed a little and got more comfortable:

"My dad will need surgery and he doesn't have insurance."

"How come?"

Kurt shrugged:

"He's a Hummel, that means stubborn. I got it from him. He pays for his workers, but he thought he wouldn't get sick."

"And now what?"

Kurt took a deep breath:

"I don't know".

"Do they have the money?"

Kurt made a pained face and shook his head.

In moments like this that Blaine wished he had a ton of money. Well, his father had. But he couldn't count on his father to help his future in-law. All the money Blaine had had been invested on the wedding. That was it! They would use the wedding money.

When he told Kurt his idea, his first instinct was saying no. Blaine insisted:

"We have the rest of our lives to throw a big wedding party. Your father needs the money now."

Kurt hesitated:

"He'll never let me do it."

"That's where your stubbornness comes in."

Kurt looked out the window for a while; he seemed lost in thought. At last, he turned to Blaine:

"I can't do that to you; to us."

Blaine took his hand:

"Why not, Kurt? You were going to give up on your dream of a big white wedding when you thought that would make me uncomfortable. Why now is different?"

"Because that's not what you want."

Blaine chuckled and caressed the back of Kurt's hand:

"Of course it is! There's no point throwing a big party without Burt in it. Like I said, we have the rest of our lives to throw parties. We can go to city hall to get married and do the wedding for our one-year anniversary. Burt needs the money now."

Kurt was worrying his lower lip:

"Are you sure about it?"

"Absolutely."
