.:perspective change - 1st person:.

The world seemed swirly as I came-to. I fully opened my eyes to see a very bright light.

I turned my head to the left and looked around the room. It looked like a hospital room. There was an IV pump attached to my arm and a loud beeping coming from a machine.
Mom told me what an IV pump was when I went to the hospital once. That was before I lived in the basement.

There was no other beds in the room and only one Curtin in between me and what I assumed was the door.

I turned my head to the right and was surprised to see someone there. They were dressed in all white and had their back facing me.

"H-hello?" I asked.

He turned around to look at me. "Your awake." He stated. He had on a black mask. It looked like a bird beak, almost.

I nodded.

he walked around my bed and past the curtain. I heard a door open and close. Now I'm all alone.

I don't try to get up. I feel so sleepy. So I wait. I'm very good at waiting. Patience. Thats what my mom called it. She said it was a good thing. So all I have to do is wait.

Lucky for me, waiting was the right thing to do. After two minutes, based on the clock in the corner, the door opened again. I look over towards the source of the noise. The curtain is pushed aside and in comes a man.

He also has a mask on. But his is red and gold. He has a green and purple jacket on with a black shirt underneath. I look up at his eyes. They are a piercing golden color. I've never seen someone with that eye color before. Its nice.

He noticed I'm staring and steps closer. "what is your name." He asked.

"y/n" I say. This time I know I am speaking. Maybe someone used their quirk on me before? But not anymore.

"Full name please." He says.

"I... I don't know." I said.

"hmmm." He walked over to a chair next to the bed and sat down. He leaned forward and said, "Well it doesn't matter," He leaned back in his chair, "we already know your real name."

"what?" I ask, "how?"

"well, I took a blood sample from you. I know most things about now. Your turning 18 in a few weeks. You have a very unstable diet. You are extremely vitamin D deficient. And your parents are dead." He said all of this in a matter of fact tone.

I was caught off guard. How could he know so much about me? Just from a blood sample? I understand the diet and vitamin deficiency information from the sample, but my age, and my parents?

"how do you know my age?" I ask.

"we were able to find your file in police and medical records." He answered.

"ok... But... What about my parents?" I hesitantly ask.

"police record and family ties. Your parents died 12 years ago. You were regarded as missing. So eventually they wrote you off as dead." He told me.

Dead!? The world thinks I'm dead? Wait but my mom was still alive? If not...

"y... You said mom died..." I said slowly, "so who was keeping me in that basement?" I ask looking at my lap, not daring to meet his eyes.

"your aunt. She kidnapped you I assume." He replied simply.

"oh." I responded.

"I'm sure you have a lot more questions miss l/n," he said standing up, "but you will just have to ask those at a different time."

I look up at him, "Wait." He stopped and looked at me.
"why am I here?" I ask.

he shook his head. "I can't answer that right now. But I'll most likely have an answer soon." He said.

I nodded.

He turned and left the room.

The only person left was the man in white. I look over to him. This entire time he was quietly standing on the side. "Excuse me." I speak up, "but can I ask who you are?" I say with genuine curiosity.

"Chronostasis, I'm overhaul's assistant." He told me. He stepped closer and looked at the machine. "your vitals seem fine. And your taking the news rather well." He rambled on.

He turned to me. "if you need anything please call me with this button." He pointed to a red button on the table next to me. I nodded

"good. One last thing. Don't leave this room. Well, you can't but still don't try too." He said very firmly. I quickly nodded.

Before he left the room, I stopped him. "Wait... Um where's the restroom?" I asked.

He pointed to a door over on the other side of the room to the right.

"thank you" I said, and he turned and left.

As the door shut behind him I could hear the click of a lock.
