"I will pay this time." Y/N declares, but they hadn't actually eaten anything; it was unfair to make them pay. I wanted to protest but they had already taken the check and placed the Mora alongside it. Damn them. When did they become so kind?
"You didn't have to..." I try to thank them.
"I don't wanna hear it." Y/N giggled, startling me, "I enjoy treating my friends!"
Friend? They called me their friend, and it brought a smile to my face.
"Thank you," I say, still a little confused. How did Y/N's personality change so quickly? Were they always like this?
"Aether hurry up!" Paimon yelled, "Paimon wants to eat more food in Liyue!"
And so we begin our journey to Liyue.

After passing the Dawn Winery we walked across a large wooden bridge. I stare in awe at the crystal blue waterfall as the sound of running water brought me a calm feeling.
"Hurry up!" Paimon yelled although I was surprised it wasn't Y/N that had said that. Instead, Y/N had just stood there; waiting patiently before continuing to lead us to the Stone Gate.
We followed a dirt path that curved up and around the mountain ever so slightly. Reaching a raised wooden boardwalk I slowly walked past the two large, rocky formations on either side of me. I feel so insignificant.
"Welcome to Liyue Traveller." Y/N broke the silence and pointed, "That tree is where we will be staying for the night. It's called Wangshu Inn if I remember correctly."
A/N: I took pictures for yall, but I might not include them in further chapters; we'll just have to wait and see if I feel like it.
"We must be more cautious from now on. I only cleared up until here." Y/N warns.
"Cleared?" I ask. Was that what they did last night? "You mean you didn't sleep?"
Y/N raised their hand to their face and chewed on their nail for a moment while refusing direct eye contact. I don't understand how that was a sensitive question to them. Why won't they answer half my questions? I thought, insecurities flooding my mind as they stayed silently still. Is it me? Do they just not like me? Or is it... They don't trust me...
"I-" They begin, but their eyes dance frantically, "I was just thinking ahead... Your safety is my priority." We stood there for a while, the silence was so awkward it felt like I was being strangled. "We should get going, Liyue gets more dangerous after dark," Y/N spoke up.
Of course, they were right. As we continued to follow the trail, more and more Hilichurls popped up. At first, it was just a single archer on a straw boat, but as we approached a Statue of the Seven we were attacked by a large group of Hilichurls and a Mitachurl. Y/N honoured their word but refused my help. They fought whilst protecting me from the occasional arrows aimed at me; blocking them with the flat of their sword. Eventually, they released a slash of lapis fire clearing up the last 4 archers.
