"So how was it mom?" I am setting the dinner table for my family with my mother. This is the first time ive seen her in quite a while.

She has a brown short bob and flawless hazel skin that compliment her perfect curves and tiny frame. She has on a plain black long dress with a slit in the front and a pair of high heels too. In other words she is the complete opposite of me. Lucky for me, Destiny got all mom's genes and i got stuck with dad's.

She has been managing the CJ department in Atlanta and has also been gone on the road with my father for the past few weeks.

"Oh, Aaliyah you would've loved it. The hotel your father put us in was almost bigger than the house.." Impossible. My fathers mansion was quite possibly the biggest one I've ever seen. He asked to have the family dinner at his house but its just too close to Austin's old home... im not ready for those memories yet.

".. and of course he won the fight, no surprise there, my man never loses." I shake my head and put the cups down on the long table. My house is not that big, but its managable for me right now... When i get that forbes title i wont have to worry about searching for the money, it will come to me.

"Speaking of men, how is austin, you know how much i like that boy. He is just so polite eh?" I flick my head up to her face at the mention of his name, my fingers become weak and i accidentally drop the cup that was in it.

"God, Aaliyah be careful will you? You trying end up dead before tonights dinner?" My face is stuck in a trance, i cant believe i forgot to tell my family that me and Austin aren't together anymore! I mean what am i even supposed to tell them?
Oh yeah guys i forgot to tell you, that boyfriend you guys liked so much was actually abusing me this whole time and your other daughter caught him trying to kill me so she sent him off to Tuvalu.

"Well don't just stand around girl go get a sweeper and clean this mess up." My mom said as she shooed me away from the kitchen desk. I quickly rushed into the kitchen and grabbed the sweeper.

"Are you ready for this?" I see destiny swaying into the kitchen with an excited smile on her face. She has been helping me so much for the past few weeks.

Boy, did she let have it when she heard i got back to work. She hates how much im working and says i need to rest and heal from my 'trauma' but i dont see how sitting on my ass, feeling sorry for myself is going to heal anything?

And if im being honest with myself, im just not ready to focus on the whole thing yet, i would much rather just distract myself and work is the perfect place for that, or should i say it was...

"Am i ready to be confronted by my dad who clearly cant stand me and my mother who i haven't seen in months? Hmm let me think.."

"Oh come on Aaliyah, it'll be fun, and dad does not dislike you.." Easy for her to say, Destiny is so clearly favored by my father it hurts! I roll my eyes and then walk back into the dining room, Destiny follows behind me while speed walking.

"Alright everybody, lets eat!" My father comes charging into the room, his energy is felt throughout the entire dining area. Thats one thing about him, he has such a demanding personality, one that lets you know he is here and to act right. Mom walks over to him and gives him a kiss
