Wanda's POV:
"Hey milyy (darling), Natasha said that you were out here?" Wanda called out into the roof of the Tower, closing the door behind her. She spotted you leaning against the railing, back turned to her. Making her way over, she snaked her arms around your waist, hugging you from behind, enjoying the warmth from your body.
"Wanda!" You greeted when you felt her touch, turning around in her arms. Worry flashed through your eyes for a moment when you saw her, gone as quickly as it had appeared, but it didn't go unnoticed by Wanda." You look beautiful tonight, as always." You whispered into her ears, giving her a light kiss against the temples.
Wanda was wondering about the worry she had seen in your eyes, but she pushed the thought away, not allowing doubts to ruin her night. She promised to never let self doubt ever ruin what she had anymore, starting with you. "You look pretty nice yourself you know? How did I get so lucky?"
You grinned at her words, "Luck definitely had nothing to do with it." You teased.
"Oh? And what would you say was the main factor?" She challenged, running her fingers down your neck suggestively. She was surprised and a little hurt when you suddenly stepped back, cringing away from her touch.
"Well, umm, many things." You stammered, nervously looking around. Your eyes darted to everything but Wanda.
Worry blossomed inside her. She couldn't help but think back to the last time she had been out here: when she had broken up with you. You seemed distant, distracted, just like she had been that night. She felt fear trickle through, "Is everything alright?" She asked, terrified of the answer.

Your POV:
You were a panicking mess. Although you had gone over what you were going to do at least a million times in your head, you were now second guessing everything.
When you had seen Wanda, you were absolutely blown away by how beautiful she looked in her dress. The black dress hugged her in all the right places, accentuating her curves, and her earrings sparkled like stars in the night sky. You were suddenly very conscious of how you were dressed. Worry spreading through you.
Wanda looked amazing, dressed like she was ready for the red carpet. Were you too underdressed for this? What exactly did people wear when they were proposing?
Wanda complimented your look and it relaxed your nerves a bit.
You were definitely the lucky one in the relationship. Very few people could say they were dating a badass, crime fighting Sokovian Avenger with the most beautiful green eyes and smile in the world, and a heart of gold. In fact, you were pretty sure only you could.
Every day with Wanda was somehow better than the last, and you knew that there was no one else you could ever spend the rest of your life with. Now, you just had to find a way to express that.
"Luck definitely had nothing to do with it." You replied, gathering your courage, hoping the words would come to you as you go. Wanda raised her eyebrows in surprise.
Oh crap. That came out wrong.
Wanda leaned in, running her finger through your neck and you felt your breath hitch at the contact, the baby hairs standing up at the touch. Her lips were opened slightly, and her eyes were looking right into yours. She was obviously expecting you to lean in.
You stumbled back, trying to recollect your muddled thoughts.
The last thing you wanted was to make Wanda think that you only liked her because of her body. Thoughts flurrying, you panickily looked around the roof.
"Well, umm, many things." You answered intelligently.
Nice! Real smooth there. That was a great save.
You couldn't bring yourself to look at Wanda, instead choosing to focus on the buildings in the distance. You wondered if you should've taken up Tony's offer on getting fireworks. You had said no when he suggested it, thinking that it was too tacky for Wanda's taste, but now, it actually sounded like a good idea. At least it would've given you a segue into your proposal. Now that you were thinking about it, maybe you should've taken up Sam's offer of having a drone write the message in the clouds too. Or Steve's offer of a quartet in the background.
All of their offers had seemed too superficial to you. You wanted your proposal to be genuine, a way for Wanda to see how much you truly cared, but maybe that had been the wrong approach. Maybe you should've gone with the over the top, romantic movie style gestures.
"Is everything alright?" Wanda asked by your side, and you realized that you had been quiet for too long.
Clearing your throat, you decided that you just had to do it. It wouldn't help to wallow in regret, you had chosen to propose this way for a reason, Wanda had chosen to stay with you for a reason. So, you just had to trust your heart.
"Ahh, yes. I-I have something I have to s-say. " You started, already stumbling over your words due to your nervousness. " When I woke up that day in the hospital, I was in a place I didn't know, and with people I couldn't remember. Yet, deep inside, I still knew you. The kind, green-eyed Avenger who had been by my side when I had awoken. The Sokovian who had held my hand and somehow soothed the pain away. It confused me at first, my feelings for you. As far as my memories were concerned, I had just met you, yet I couldn't help but get flustered when you were around, couldn't help but feel my heart racing every time I looked at you. And that's when I realized that you didn't live in my head Wanda Maximoff, you lived in my heart. My brain may have forgotten everything, but my heart never did. " You took a moment to glance up at Wanda, gauging her reaction. The woman was staring wide-eyed, unmoving. Taking a short intake of breath, you continued. "I can't promise you forever, we both know our jobs are too dangerous to make promises like that, but if you would allow me, I do want to promise you a lifetime. My lifetime." You dropped down on one knee, pulling out the small black box that had sat in the corner of your jacket pocket for months, always right over your heart.
Wanda let out a tiny gasp, no longer frozen in shock.
"Wanda Maximoff, I don't want to be limited by my past anymore, I want to be able to look forward to my future. Would you make me the luckiest person alive and do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
Wanda stared at the ring for a moment, mesmerized by the way it shone in the night. A smile slowly spread across her face, tears making their way down her cheeks. "Yes, of course." She choked out, overwhelmed by happiness. You slid the ring onto her left ring finger, the only one she ever left bare.
"I love you, Wanda." You whispered, standing up. She pulled you into a breathless kiss that fried all your brain circuits, until the only thing you could think about was her.
The two of you stood there for a while, just taking each other in, two hearts beating as one.
