ZOEY'S P.O.V.
We eventually ended up in our rooms, getting ready for the new day. I decided to wear something casual, without knowing what we were going to do, so I just put on a pair of dark jeans, and a grey tank top. I brushed my hair leaving it natural and added a little bit of mascara, being way too lazy to do my makeup.***
I went downstairs to find the girls already eating and discussing the plans for the day. They didn't seem to observe me as they continued talking, letting me hear their conversation while I was preparing my cereals. More precisely, Calum's cereals. That guy has an incredible taste in food, they are amazing. It may be this, or the fact that every Australian thing is heavenly compared to the strict British snacks. I remained leaned on the cupboard, eating my meal in silence.
"Guys, my aunt just called saying that we should go visit her today. She says she'll help us organize our party tonight, as she knows every single person in our neighborhood."
"Wait, what party? I thought we were going to familiarize with our new home today...like...visit the sights, you know..."
"We want to throw a party tonight, to make some new friends!" Aria said excited.
"Yeah, we wanna meet our neighbors, other than the assholes next door." Joanna added.
"But guys, it's already eleven o'clock and we aren't even on our way to her house. We must hurry." I replied instantly starting to clean up the dishes gathered in the sink.
"Come on, Zoey, chill out, her house is like, about ten minutes from here. We can arrive there in no time. It's okay."
"Fine..." I mumbled.***
ARIA'S POV
"Put your seat belts on girls. It's gonna be a wild ride!" Bianca was so excited about her license, even though her driving skills were almost inexistent. She was wearing a big dump smile on her face, making it hard for me to be rude to her. But as I had lost my compassion a long time ago, I decided to not give a fuck and be myself.
"You'd better try not to kill us hippie."
Zoey rolled her eyes laughing as Joanna was trying to teach me how to be nicer to people and keep my bad thoughts for myself. Of course, she was talking by herself as I was too busy not caring. Plus, I was trying to keep my balance and ignore my sudden need to "feed the cats" on the mini van's backseat. Zoey was looking out on the window, admiring the sights, making me want to do so.***
After a few terrible minutes, we arrived at Roxanne's, thanking God we were still alive by the time we got there. I ran as fast as I could to the door, starting to push repetitively the doorbell button, before being cut by Zoey's hand slapping mine. I looked at her making my best grumpy cat impression, only causing her to frantically laugh at me.
Bianca sighed and pushed us aside getting some keys out of her pocket, that she used to open the door, making me a feel ashamed of my absurd insistence.***
"Hi girls!" I heard a sound in the garden. Roxanne was sitting on her rocker drinking some tea. "Some habits never change" I said to myself smiling.
Bianca jumped directly into her aunt's arms, both starting to talk happily to each other while we were waiting to be observed and say hi to the one who was going to be our only tutor for the next year.
I decided to take a look in the garden while Joanna was already playing with Roxanne's cat, who seemed not to enjoy it as much as she did. After a while, the cat started to spit, making Joanna bound and leave, trying to make other friends in the chicken coop. I laughed a little before seeing Zoey staring directly to Bianca and her aunt with teary eyes. She smiled sadly as I came closer and hugged her.
"Hi girls!" Roxanne finally said, coming to us.***
After Roxanne made some pancakes for us, we started talking. We talked a lot, mostly about the places we should visit, and the people around. After an hour or two, I was ready to fall asleep on the table, and before being impolite and actually do it, I was saved by the doorbell.
"Excuse me girls, I guess it's just the guy who helps me with the work. I guess he brought me something. It will only last a minute. "
"That's okay Roxanne." Answered Joanna whose face was covered in maple syrup. She'd eaten more than ten pancakes, and she was still asking for more. I wonder where all that food goes.
We laughed at this view, while Roxanne was trying not to, then she turned around and opened the door with a big smile on her face.
"Hi Roxanne."
"Oh hi dear! Come in, I've just made some pancakes and I guess you want some too."
"I'm actually not hungry but..if you insist!" He said giggling.
The guy had a very familiar voice, and before I could think about it, he entered the kitchen followed by Bianca's aunt.
"Girls, I would like to present you to "
"Ashton?!" Bianca almost yelled.
"So you now each other, that's fabulous! Now Ashton, you can sit down as I bring you some pancakes!"
I was surprised to see him too. I can't lie, I was furious. All I wanted to do was jump and cut his throat, but, somehow, seeing the other girls looking at him like that made me feel kinda bad for him. Poor unfortunate soul. But he must pay for it, and he surely will.
"Hey, does anyone know where the pancakes are?"
We all looked at Joanna who was licking her fingers, and before she observed us, followed by her usual guilty face, Roxanne decided to make others.
