Megan's POV

He has a bunch of papers in his hand that he is lost in. He doesn't bother to look up at me. "Where's your parents?"

"Out of town... I think." I hesitate before speaking.

"When will they be back?" He asks quickly.

"I don't know. And something else I also didn't know was that you'd show up this early."

"Can I enter?" He asks without paying attention to what I just said. Austin turns to look up at me. He raises an eyebrow when he notices me narrowing my eyes.

No. I want to reply, but instead, I say, "Sure." I make way for him and he enters.

Alex looks up. "Hey, it's the guy from yesterday." She says excitedly. "Right, Megan?"

"Right, Alex. It's the guy from yesterday. Now continue watching the movie." I say with a phony smile.

"So?" He says, probably expecting me to tell/ask him something.

"So?" I spit back.

He mutters something that I don't catch.

"What?" I say, going for a straight forward tone.

"Nothing."

We stare at each other for a moment. I look at Emma when she cries, "Rue's gone!"

"Yeah?" I ask nicely and say, "Aww."

Austin laughs.

I look at him irritatedly as he asks, "What? You aren't going to ask me for something to drink?"

The first time I saw him, I immediately knew we weren't going to like each other. Now, I feel something more... hate possibly?

"Do you want something to drink?" I ask, after a moment of hesitation.

"No," he answers. Seriously?

"Well?" I ask. Why is he here?

"Well what?"

"Why are you here?"

"Because. I told your Mum I'd be here."

"For what?" I ask.

He shoots me an annoyed look. "To sign papers for the house."

I try to think of something nice to say, but I can't think of anything.

"So..." I look at the tattoos on his arms. "What are those?"

"Tattoos," he says, flatly.

"I mean w-" I start but I get interrupted by him.

"I've lived through a lot, okay? And these remind me of who I am. I've seen too much fucking damage and I've hid for far too long." He says, staring me in the eye.

I want to ask him what he means, but I can't get the words out of my mouth.

"Anything else you want to know?" He asks, with an irritated edge in his voice.

"Uhh. So... what are you going to do until my parents come?"

"Don't know, my bus doesn't come for another half an hour."

"Yay..." I say sarcastically.

"Megan. C'non and watch with us. This movie's scary." Alex cries.

I look at Austin. "Well, do you want to watch the movie?" I pause and mutter, "Since you're clearly not going to leave."

"Sure." He says casually. Then he walks over to Alex and Emma and sits besides them. Can you believe that guy?

I gape at him and stand up. I make a seat in-between Alex and Emma.

We watch the rest of the movie and we start watching Mockingjay.

Austin keeps commenting rude things and making Alex and Emma laugh while I try to ignore him.

The rest of the morning passes by pretty quickly. Austin leaves in the middle of Mockingjay and my parents were still away. What is taking them so fucking long? Later on, we watch Frozen.

I didn't want to watch Frozen, because Alex and Emma used to watch it 24/7.

"Megan? I need to talk to you." He says with clear annoyance as he stands up and walks to the kitchen.

Anything to get to not watch Frozen, again. I follow him to the kitchen. "What?"

"Your parents wanted me to show you some schools you could be interested in." He avoids meeting eyes with me and takes out his phone and starts typing something in.

"So?"

"Here are a few schools you might want to think about."

I lean forward and look. "Yeah, sure. I can look on my own."

My shoulder accidentally brushes against him and I pull back.

He suddenly gasped and falls to his knees!
