The Corridor

Chad and Jeremy followed the glowing river.

With every step they took, the light faded behind them and glowed brighter in front of them.

"That's it. That's the answer" said Chad.

"What is?" said Jeremy.

"This river is taking us home. The further we go, the brighter it gets. And it stops glowing behind us" said Chad.

Jeremy looked ahead and he could almost see clearly. He looked back and it was completely dark.

"I think you're right, Chad the lad" he said.

Pretty soon, the boys reached the end of the river.

"What was the use of following that light? We're still in the woods" said Jeremy.

Just then, another light shone above the boys like a street lamp.

The light revealed a stone doorway that slid open all by itself.

"Well, at least we found shelter" said Chad.

"Unless that river sent us to a trap" said Jeremy.

Then it started to rain.

"I guess we're going in" said Jeremy.

"I guess so" said Chad.

The two went through the stone doorway.

It was pitch black in the entrance.

"It sure is dark in here"  said Jeremy.

"We're just being led into a world of dark aren't we?" said Chad.

The doorway then slid shut.

"Not a good sign" said Chad.

But then these torches lit up illuminating a long, seemingly endless hallway.

"Where are we?" said Jeremy.

"I don't know, but we need to find a way out of this corridor" said Chad.

"Judging by those flaming torches, our way out must be this way" said Jeremy.

He and Chad cautiously made their way down the hall.
