Tick. Tick. Tick.

You stared up at the ceiling, listening to the softly ticking alarm clock that sat on your bedside table. You hadn't been trying to, but you managed to wake up before it yet again. Since there were a few minutes until it'd ring so you could get ready for school, there wasn't much point in trying to get a few more winks of sleep. Oh well, it didn't bother you too much. You'd rather not be super drowsy while you took a shower or applied your makeup. Not like last time.

You finally glanced over at the clock to check the time. One more minute.. better get up and get dressed now. Letting out a loud yawn, you shut off your alarm before it could ring and slid out of bed. You stretched until you could hear your back pop before sliding on your cute pink bunny slippers and white dressing gown.

Padding out into the hallway of your house, you hopped over the creaky floorboards that stood in your way despite  knowing that the only other person who lived in this house, your father, was deep in dreamland and wouldn't wake up before his own alarm rang for work. You hummed out the tune of the latest CYS song as you got ready for your day-- a quick shower, brushing your teeth, taming your bed head into a far cuter style, and applying some light makeup. Your hair and makeup weren't as elaborate as you'd do when you were going out with your friends on the weekend, but that was fine. Your school would've probably made you wipe it all off anyway, just like they did when your far bolder friends and classmates came all decked out. It wasn't 'professional'.

You headed back to your room to put on your uniform; a sailor style top with a bright red ribbon that you tied into a cute bow and a navy blue skirt that you rolled up at the waist a few times to make shorter. Your father, aunt, and the schook officials absolutely hated the way you wore your uniform, but you thought it was perfectly fine. You wore bike shorts underneath the skirt anyway. Considering how many people perved on you in the past thanks to your usual style, it was definitely for the best.

Before you headed downstairs, you grabbed your pink cardigan, your choker that heavily resembled your favorite CYS member's own, and your school bag decorated with various charms. As you tugged up your loose socks, you pondered what you should have for breakfast. Hm.. maybe you'd just take an apple or two. You weren't really hungry right now, and you wanted some time to chat with your friends before school too. With a nod, you grabbed two shiny red apples from the fruit basket in the kitchen, slid on your blinged out loafers and left the house.

The morning air was crisp, and the sound of cricket chirps filled your ears as you headed down to one of your friends' houses, munching on one of the apples you grabbed. Knowing how lazy he could be, he was probably still asleep despite knowing that you two walked to school around this time every single day. At this point, his parents left waking him up for school to you or your other friend Yuki.

After stepping through the gates surrounding the vast area your friend's family lived in, you strolled up to a rather large house with a smile, knocking on the door. Not even two minutes later, a woman with black hair tied in a low bun opened up.
"Morning, Mrs. Kusanagi!" You said cheerfully as she let you in and you kicked off your loafers at the genkan.
"Good morning. You're certainly chipper today, aren't you?"
"I don't see why I shouldn't be. I believe that starting the day off with a smile ensures that it'll be a good one."
"That's certainly optimistic. I think Saisyu should take that advice sometime too." She laughed, shaking her head before waving you off.

Heading down the familiar corridor, you stopped in front of a door with a hastily scribbled 'Keep Out!' sign on it. Tch, as if. You barged into the room as if you owned it, nearly tripping over a pile of something on the ground.
'Jeez.. doesn't this dumb-dumb ever clean up?' You thought to yourself annoyed, kicking aside the pile to get to the bed. There, you saw the familiar sight of your best friend Kyo Kusanagi fast asleep and clinging and drooling on his pillow. Seeing him so peaceful was a rare sight considering how loud and obnoxious he normally was. You almost felt bad for waking him up, but not bad enough to stop yourself from doing it.
