Kyo fought his way through a bunch more opponents after Tatsuhiro. He wiped the floor with some of them easily, while others came close to beating him instead. His hardest opponents came from the fighters before the semifinals, and more than once he was almost knocked out cold the moment the match started. Kyo being Kyo, that didn't deter him in the slightest. It only made him far more eager to take them all down.

His efforts paid off in the end, as he approached the mat for the semifinals. Since the fighters were allowed a short break before then, you instead dragged Kyo towards a nearby bench while Yuki went to go buy him a small bottle of water at her insistence. Neither of you wanted him to collapse before he could fight, after all.
"I can't believe you actually got this far even with your huge head and ego. Color me impressed." You were genuinely proud of him, teasing aside. Thankfully he didn't take offense with your words, and instead bumped his shoulder with yours, "You expect anything less? I told you that I was gonna win this whole thing."
"And I'm surprised. I really thought that pro-wrestler back there was gonna knock your crown off!"
"Yeah right! You really think I'd let something like that happen? I've been competing in stuff like this since I was a kid." He reminded you, resting his arm on your shoulder, "Besides, I still have your little charm."

"And here I thought that you didn't need luck." You raised an eyebrow as Kyo dropped his arm to your waist, pulling you closer to him so he could rest his head on your shoulder instead. Since no one you two knew was watching, you allowed it just this once.
"I don't. That doesn't mean I don't wanna keep your gifts."
"You've been really nice to me lately. What's up with that? I feel like you're buttering me up to ask me for a favor later."
"You.. can't be serious, right?" He stared at you incredulously, so you stared right back at him. Of course you weren't that oblivious. You knew for a fact that he liked you in some way, somehow, for some reason. It'd just make you feel way better if he came out and outright confirmed or denied it, hence your constant questioning.

"Do you hate it?" Kyo asked. To your surprise, you ended up shaking your head, "Nah, I guess I'm just a little confused. You've, like, never been this clingy towards me before. Those naps at lunch don't count."
"After that whole thing with Hiroto, Yuki thought you could use some actual affection."
"So... she told you to start hugging me instead of doing it herself?"
"Yes." He said a little too quickly. You could clearly hear the hesitation in his voice in spite of his best attempts to hide it, and you would've pressed him on it if Yuki hadn't come back with the bottle of water. He gratefully took it and practically chugged it down as she sat down next to you. You, on the other hand, quickly scrambled away from Kyo's hold before she could notice and tease you two about it.

"I caught a glimpse of the next guy you're up against." Yuki said, "His name's Goro Daimon, right?" Kyo grunted in confirmation and stopped drinking for a moment to properly answer her, "Judo champ, and he was in the Olympics once."
"Was he that big burly guy tossing people around earlier? He was intimidating even though he had that real calm look on his face." You shivered, but Kyo waved his hand dismissively, "Yeah. He's nothing compared to me though, so don't be so paranoid."
"He was causing earthquakes. I think we all have the right to be at least a little paranoid about it." Yuki deadpanned, "You should know this already, but don't let him grab you."
"Yeah, yeah, I do know. Big deal." Kyo said, "You guys ready to watch me win?"

"You sure you can handle it, Kyokyo?" You asked seriously, "I know I was joking around earlier, but a guy from the Olympics?" Kyo looked between you and Yuki and then the mat twice before shooting the two of you a confident grin, "So what?" He asked, walking back towards the mat as you and Yuki fell in line on either side of him, "I hope I hear you two cheering my name."
"Whateves." You huffed and folded your arms, frustrated by his cavalier attitude. Yuki didn't look as frustrated as you did, but the air about her still was pretty tense.
"I hope you know what you're doing." She finally said, standing next to you with her fingers laced together.
