Despite all the shitstorms caused by the stupid article from Haris, my life didn't change.

Much.

My job was secure. Luci fought like a lioness when it came to some of our clients who expressed their doubts and downright bigotry when it came to my little affair with Victor, so none of my delivery points have been taken off my working load. Most of my colleagues greeted me with loud wows and whistles, which was a bit uncomfortable at first, but at the end of the day, it was better than if their reaction was negative. The only person who seemed bummed by it was Gabriel, but other than a few side-eyed stares and frowns thrown my way, he acted the same as usual. I couldn't pinpoint why exactly he was bothered by it, considering he knew my sexual orientation and was also very well aware of my affair with Victor, but I tried to look at it as my friend being angry on my behalf, and he was just awkward in showing it properly.

One thing that changed for the worse and drove me crazy was my sister. Rebecca became a big momma bear after reading the article, reactions to it, and the horrendous things some people said about me online. And there was nothing more brutal than an older sister's love.

"Dale," she said, sizing me up and down while I was putting on my jacket. I had a date tonight, and I was already almost late. If she kept me here for more than five minutes, I knew I wouldn't make it on time, and it was stressing me out. I hated being late. It was most definitely because of the nature of my job, but no one could argue being on time was a positive thing.

"What?" I snapped, tired of her nonstop lecturing. It was cute the first two times, but when she started her tirade for the hundredth time within two days, I was about to jump out of a window.

"Just be careful, okay? I know I am annoying right now, but this thing you have with that guy? It could turn ugly really fast. If he was an ordinary guy, it would be different, but with the way things are," she paused, shaking her head and looking at me with eyes full of worry and suspicion.

Tianna sneaked up on her, hugging her from behind and pressing a kiss to her temple.

"Let him go, Becc. He needs to figure things out for himself. He is not some virgin, naïve kid. Daley can take care of himself, hm?" she said, looking at me with mirth.

I loved Tia. She looked at life with nothing but happiness and found something positive in every little thing, however negative or fucked up it was. My sister, on the other hand, was one big ball of nerves and seriousness, so Tianna was the perfect match for Becca.

"Thanks, Tia." I waved them both goodbye and ran out of the door before Rebecca got another chance to start one of her lessons. I was supposed to meet Vic at seven o'clock down the street, and it was now exactly six fifty-four. My street stretched for almost a mile before one reached from one end to the other. I would have to run if I wanted to make it on time.

I barely made it. There were just too many people everywhere, and they were slowing me down.

"Sorry," I said, a bit out of breath from avoiding all the people while running. It was surprisingly tiring.
