It’s been two days since my accident as Jay likes to refer to it. Surprisingly my father has been away and won’t come back for a couple days. Super happy about that and I am proud to say I have been on time to school, Jays pretty happy about that.

It was the weekend before my father was due to return and we decided to go camping, something I always wanted to do but never got the chance. It was originally Jay's idea but Lana made the plans.

Currently I'm in my room getting dressed. I settled on some loose cargo pants, with my favorite sweater.  I pulled my hair into a ponytail pinning up my fringe. I went downstairs and got a bottle of water from the fridge and a granola bar. I sat down to watch some t.v and snack on the granola bar. It was relatively eight thirty when Jay and Lana pulled up to my drive way. I grabbed my packed bag, tim's and headed for the door.

I locked the door behind me and climbed into the back seat of Jay's jeep.

“Hey Zoe”

“Hiya Zoe”

“Hi guys. So are we ready”

“Yep where good to go but I hope you ladies know it’s going to be rough out there and I’m still not sure if you can handle it.” He gave us a cheeky grin.

With this Lana and I lunged for Jay and we both ended up hitting him. I’m so glad the car wasn’t moving or we all would be dead. We pulled away from the now bruised Jay.

“Did I say ladies, I mean men. You guys can hit hard.” He said while rubbing his arm. I smirked from the back seat and we pulled out of my drive way.

The drive to the camping grounds nearest to us would be at least a two hour drive. I stretched back on the seat and watched the changing scenery. Lana turned on the radio and fallout  boys Thanks for the memories started to play. We belted out the lyrics in our obvious horrid voices. Jay soon joined in and we all busted out laughing. Eventually the laughter died down and we sat in comfortable silence. I let out a small yawn, I must of still been tired. I snuggled into my over sized sweater and   got a little more comfortable.  Within minutes I was out like a light.

A few hours later

My eyes were still closed when I felt myself being shaken rather violently. Still choosing to ignore it  I let out a grumbled leave me alone. When the shaking didn't relent I groggily opened my eyes  and saw Lana standing above me door open and a scowl on her face.

"Do you know how hard it is to wake you up, I mean seriously dude if there was an earthquake you'd sleep right through it."  Ignoring her  I responded.

“So I’m guessing where here and if not you better start running and pray your faster than me or else I'm going to have to find a new best friend.” I stated grumpily.

Somewhere around what I guessed to be the campsite I heard Jay yell, I thought I was your best friend.

“Oh, just get out of the car!” Lana pulled me out.

I did what I was told and was greeted by a whiff of nature. I inhaled deeply. I always loved the outdoors and prior to us moving here we lived in Forks, Washington. Our house was surrounded by a forest however I only lived there till I was about four or five, I can’t remember much from my younger days except the abuses but it didn’t bother me much.

I saw Jay setting up camp a couple yards away from us. He was clearly having trouble setting up the tent. I thought it was us ‘girls’ that have a hard time out here in nature.

“Need some help with that?” I grinned

"Noo I can.. do..it..myself." at the end of that statement Jay was entangled in the rope.

"Are you sure you don't need my help?"  I gave him a cheeky grin.

“Please.” I was going to make him work for my help but the face he made was so cute  I couldn’t say no. Soon enough we had the two tents up and the fire pit was made. We still had about an hour of light left so we decided to go exploring.

We didn't't wonder to far from camp but we did pass another campsite a little ways away from ours.It was occupied by what i guessed to be a small group of bird watchers. We saw birds and there was even a lake. A made a note to visit that spot again later. But as the sunlight started to recede we headed back to camp.

We started the fire and got some hot dogs cooking. We all started to talk about the insane new science teacher with the crazy red hair, in my opinion it was cool. We finished our hot dogs and went on to s'mores, I mean what camping trip would officially be a camping trip without them.

“Hey lets tell ghost stories” Of all people Lana was the one to suggest it. Lana was though and all but she would always get scared when ghost stories where mentioned.

“Lana are you sure about that I mean...”

“Don’t worry about me Zoe I promise I won’t cry” I was still skeptical but agreed none the less.

“Okay fine’’

“Oh pick me, pick me, please!” Jay was screaming to tell the story so I just let him.

“Yes! Now when I start don’t interrupt me or I’ll put a snake in your sleeping bag.” I knew he was fibbing but I agreed anyways.

“Okay, let’s begin.” He started talking with an eerie tone and his eyes became slits. Talk about getting into character.

“It started on a simple day to a young girl named Jessie. She was walking to her kindergarten school with her older brother who was currently fifteen. The two were relatively close and Jessie loved everything about her older brother. They came to the intersection of the road and were about to cross when there was a screech and Jessie’s brother went flying in the other direction blood oozing out of every crevice and his elbow was pointing the wrong way. Jessie didn’t know what was happening so she just walked over to her brother’s unmoving body and lay next to him clutching his hand in hers.” Jay took a long pause and I saw Lana with a few tears running down her face, this story wasn’t scary more like really sad, but Jay began talking again.

“Seven years later Jessie still woke up due to nightmares of that horrific day. Everything since then became very different. Her parents split and she rarely saw the only parent she had left, her dad. She did her normal routine and left for school. But today things felt weird like she was being watched. She ignored it but as she neared school a van pulled up in front of her and before she knew it she was unconscious. She awoke to bright light in her eyes and found her arms and legs bounded to a table. She struggled but she couldn’t get free. She accepted her fate of dying in that place but she soon heard a door click and someone walked in.”he paused for dramatic effect.

" When the door opened Jessie let out a blood curdling scream." At that moment we heard a scream off in the distance. Lana griped my arm with and iron vice. Jay looked slightly unsettled but try'd not to show it. I was surprised but not scared knowing Jay he probably though this out and asked the bird watchers to help. But I had an unsettling feeling that I couldn't shake.

After a few seconds of silence Jay was ready to finish the story when yet again we heard the same blood curdling scream, except this time it was far more closer. In fact the noise came from right beside me. Both Jay and I looked at Lana and saw her face drained of all color, I saw her eyes and that's when I got freaked out, there was noting but fear in her eyes.

We followed her line of sight to a tree behind Jay. He stood and turned but saw nothing. We stayed in that position for what felt like and hour but what was really a couple seconds. Still we listened and waited, but there was nothing that was until I heard a crunch to my left and that's when I saw it.
