After their break up which happened two years ago, Taehyung felt as if a part of him was lost. There was this numb feeling carried in his heart and he didn't know how to fix it. He didn't know why it acted like that. He was confused to no end and there was nothing that could answer all of his questions in his head nor make his heart beat normally just like before. He felt like his days were constant, stagnant while people around him kept progressing—the world around him changing. There was a dynamic over the time in others yet Taehyung didn't feel anything significant for these past two years except that his name became well-known after the projects that he had not long ago, doing a shoot for famous models and being hired by a high-end magazine as their permanent photographer. That was a big accomplishment along with other works that gave him many opportunities in these past 2 years. However, it was all nothing.
Taehyung was happy, you could say that though he didn't feel too happy in his whole being. There was something missing in his life. And it was...
Love.
Some days he resorted to drinking bottles of expensive alcoholic drinks that he managed to afford easily with the current wages he got from his service. Taehyung thought that leaving Tanaka Maru was the best option because he didn't have to hurt her feelings and lived in a lie for the rest of his life, a happy façade that had to be on his face when he knew he didn't feel any of it for a single bit. So, why did he feel like this? Why did it seem like he made a wrong choice? Why did he still keep memories of his past relationship with her? Why didn't he return Maru's belongings? Why? Why? Why.
He tried so many things to fix this shitty feeling that kept gnawing his heart yet what he got was nought.
His friends tried to set him up on a few dates however it did nothing or spark his inside. It merely lasted for some moments before it faded away. Some women that his friends set up were very attractive and had amazing personalities but he didn't see himself with them in the future. There was always this ghost of someone in his imagination every time he tried to see a happy life that he wanted to share with someone, growing white hair naturally with them and making a big family.
He ended up only hooking up with those women only to feel that little spark and again it turned into nothing after he was sober again the next day or the moment he woke up after a night spent in lust with someone who would never be his significant other.
He felt like he messed up so bad in his love life. No, he messed up. He fucked up big times.
When Taehyung came back to South Korea, he talked to his parents immediately regarding his relationship with the Japanese woman and Taehyung visibly saw how their expressions turned sad the moment their son finished his story. It was really clear that his parents loved that Japanese woman so much and supported their relationship a lot. Hell, Tanaka Maru was the only one that Taehyung ever introduced to his parents. None of his exes experienced that for once.
He closed his eyes for some moments, his face slowly contorting in pain but it quickly faded when one of his friends asked if he was okay and he reassured that he was more than okay. His head truthfully was pounding due to the alcohol ingested in his body and he only drank three small cups.
Today was the day where he was supposed to meet up with his friends in a club and it was for a celebration.
The special occasion was for Taehyung getting hired up by a remarkable magazine that was well-known internationally. His friends cheered up for him the moment they met up in the club and ushered Taehyung to enjoy this night as his night. Some of them bring women that maybe their little famous friend likes to spend the night with.
"You're really a hard worker, Tae! Must be so busy these days for the position that you truly deserve. Gotta enjoy this fucking night as a king woohoo!"
