Rewrote the chapter

A warm sensation at the palm of his hand gently awoke Ranboo from his slumber, the warm light of the lamp placed on his left illuminated the bedroom together with the still-burning fireplace. He looked at the other person who lay beside him, his hair was disheveled and messy a contrast to the neat way his blanket was strawn unto him. Tubbo focused on the hand he was holding, drawing circles and following along the burns that littered around the palms and fingers, he drew circles and did gentle squeezes to the hand he held. "Tubbo?"

Ranboo softly called out, as he gently encased the smaller hand with his accidentally startling the man. "Sorry, I accidentally broke your sleep." His voice was soft and quiet as he tried to take his hand away, guilty of disturbing someone else's sleep. Tubbo sat up and leaned on the headboard of the bed his eyes looked over the fireplace that crackled and spread warmth to the room, he felt his side sunk as Ranboo slowly sat up.

Ranboo slowly turned his head to the left, looking at Tubbo whose cheeks had been littered with dried tears. The man seemed to notice his staring and looked away to wipe away the dry tears on his eyes and cheeks, when clean he took a deep breath and leaned on Ranboo's shoulder. "What's wrong?" Ranboo asked, his finger circling around the back of Tubbo's hand waiting for an answer.

But the man remained quiet and unmoving making it seem that he didn't want to answer, Ranboo continued to wait and looked at the vase of pink tulips beside the picture frames. He and Tubbo held a barely visible smile as they stood next to each other, it reminded Ranboo of the time they haven't gotten married. "I...I had a nightmare that you disappeared." Tubbo lifted his head and didn't dare to look into Ranboo's eyes. "when you left, you had this sad smile on your face that made me uneasy. I didn't want you to go but I was too afraid to stop you so I watched you walk away. When you left, months and years passed but I waited for you and started sticking missing person posters on the walls, lamps, and bulletin boards. I...I just couldn't find you."

Tubbo's eyebrows were scrunched and his voice desperate, he had already cried that evening, he won't cry again. He forced a smile and decided to tuck himself to bed, pulling the covers to his face as he hides away from Ranboo. Ranboo who had listened to his husband felt a sense of guilt that he had been the reason why his husband had been disturbed during his sleep.

He slowly readjusted the covers before lying down and turning his body to face Tubbo, he didn't know what face his husband was making but he called out to Tubbo and gently pulled his husband to his chest and enveloped him in his arms. Tubbo could hear the beating heart of the chest he was nestled in, along with the breathing of the man that slowly calmed him down. "I won't disappear without you..."

Ranboo whispered as he kissed the top of Tubbo's head. Ranboo knows that his words were coming from the heart, but a part of him is scared. Scared of the state that he sometimes changes in, a state that would push him to leave the peaceful life he has now and hurt those around him. He is also fearful for his memory, he constantly forgets and he desperately tries to preserve his memory by writing every day.
