Pretty and nice girls like Soojin attracted the most stubborn of admirers and it came to no one's surprise that another was hot on her heels.
It seemed that these assholes knew girls like her were too nice to reject them too harshly, so they buggered her like pests.
"My God, Soojin," Yangyang groaned in utmost exasperation. "Of everything- every fucking thing you could have said- why did it have to be that you like girls?" He ran a hand through his hair, "I can't help you, my g. I ain't no girl."
"No ordinary girl threatens him too," the pretty athlete said glumly, "I asked almost every female in the school to hit on me. He just thought I was playing hard to get."
Yangyang stifled his laugh with the back of his hand. "It's time to bring out an alpha then."
She cocked her head, "What?"
The Liu boy leaned forward. "Kim Jennie," his nails clicked against the cheap wood of the café table. "Isn't she the Queenka of your school?"
Well, yeah and? Her brows remained furrowed.
"Surely she's threatening enough to stumble him?" Yangyang prompted.
Her face cleared like the sky after a pouring rain. "Holy shit, Liu," her eyes sparkled like they held the entire galaxy in them. "Have I told you lately that I love you?"
Now, Soojin could assure you full-heartedly that she had never once spoken to Dong Sicheng about anything not sports or school-related. No, they were not by any chance friends, rest assured. Y'all could shoot your shots at this beautiful specimen of a man and she'd not even be the slightest bit affected, trust. That was how extremely not close they were.
So until she sat her ass down right next to Sicheng the very next class they shared, she couldn't even believe she was really going through with Yangyang's out-of-the-world suggestion.
"I have," she begun rather awkwardly when the Dong boy's brows shot up so high on his forehead she was honestly surprised it didn't touch his hair line. "A very strange request to make."
The boy didn't protest, so she took it as a cue to continue.
"Could you..." she inhaled sharply. "HelpmeaskJennietopretendtohitonmeplease."
Sicheng blinked, "Sorry what the fuck was that?"
"Could you help me ask Jennie to pretend to hit on me please," she said a little slower this time, face going pink. "There's this stupid boy who keeps bugging me and doesn't seem to be getting a hint that all I want is for him to fuck off." She looked visibly frustrated. "So I may have told him that I like girls, but he doesn't believe me. He thinks I'm playing hard to get."
The Chinese boy looked highly entertained by this, clearly not expecting to be hearing tea so interesting in this school. "Oof," he whistled. "Motherfucker's out for the Dumb Shit Championships."
"Right," Soojin said depressingly, propping her chin up on a hand. "This is not it. Help me out, Dong, please."
Sicheng's expression was a stark contrast to the girl's. In fact, he looked a little too amused for anyone's sake. "I'll help you pass your little message," he agreed. "But whether she agrees is entirely up to her. Fair?"
At this point Soojin would literally take anything. "Yes, that'll be great, thank you so much."
Sicheng saw no reason Jennie wouldn't refuse this brilliant offer to spend more time with her beloved Soojin. In fact, he was a little excited that his best friend's love life was starting to get spicy, so he passed the message on the very next time they ran into each other.
To his surprise, however, Jennie didn't look so happy.
"If she had to go through you to get to me," she folded her arms, "It means she isn't so sincere and desperate for my help after all. And since she isn't, why should I help her?"
Sicheng swore he had never felt half this done with his best friend before. What sort of petty ass remark was that? God damn. This girl wasn't gonna get laid anytime soon if she intends to hold this out.
"My God," he complained. "Why are you like this? She's probably just scared to approach you, dipshit."
"Well then, too bad," Jennie fired back. "If she doesn't grow balls, I ain't helping her solve none."
And so that was what Sicheng the pigeon relayed to a rather baffled Soojin- in a nicer way, of course.
"She wants me to talk to her face-to-face?" the Lee girl balked. "Dude but how-what-when-" She turned to him beseechingly. "How the fuck am I supposed to do that?"
Sicheng shrugged helplessly, "Damn, I don't know."
On the bright side, the Dong boy sent Soojin his best friend's schedule and out she was on a hunt for the it-girl when she had no classes or trainings.
After almost a full week, she finally caught up with Jennie.
