Like Ds, he ate the apple thinking Night was letting Negativity cause mayhem. Unlike Ds though, he manage to catch Night within seconds and torture him for a few years until imprisoning him.
Now Dream is trying to convince Night to give up negativity to help the worlds, while Night just wants him dead.
