Zhang Qiling
For my dear H, for the lovely chapter and the amazing story.
It was a good thing that Wu Xie had given him enough warn for him to create a spherical shield around them, otherwise both of them could had been killed in an instant by the sand demon. The demon was a rare kind even among his kin that were hard to sense in mass attacks, as they moved bellow the sand along with the demons above it, making it almost impossible to notice until the last moment, just like happen seconds ago.
However, Wu Xie's sensitivity of the demons was quite impressive as well as the protection he had been granted at birth, because as the sand demon swallow them and drag them down the sand, Wu Xie's new lighting dragon protector had come down as well and hit the sand demon with all its power as it pass through it with blinding fury, which make the huge worm-like thing explode into tiny bits that were set on blue fire.
The impact of the explosion was great, even with their shield in place and had make Wu Xie temporarily blind and dizzy, not to mention with ringing ears, as they plumbed down into the mix of sand and rock of the hole, to free roll down towards the darkness of who knows what was at the bottom of their sudden abyss.
While they fall, Qiling try to take as much damage on himself as he could while keeping Wu Xie tightly hugged, but since they roll down more than slide over the wall of the hole, it make it impossible for Wu Xie not to get hurt as well. When they finally stopped rolling down, both of them were full of scratches and painful blows all over their bodies to the point none of them moved an inch for a moment, as the pain hit in full.
Qiling had lose his wrap on Wu Xie only when they finally stopped, but they were still close enough that he could touch him just by extending his hand. Thus when he hear Wu Xie moan in pain in the semidarkness of the bottom, with only the remnants of the blue flames that had burn to ashes the sand demon as light, he turned to his right, to where Wu Xie was and have a look at him to see if he was seriously injured.
"Wu Xie... are you okay? Where does it hurt?" Qiling asked as he pass one of his hands over Wu Xie's hair in search of any signs of warm blood, but to his relief, he found none.
"Better ask me where doesn't hurt... everything ache, my ears are ringing, not to mention I think is either too dark for me to see or I have become blind..." Wu Xie whisper and Xiaoge simply moved his head down to kiss Wu Xie forehead, then one of his closed eyes.
"You are not blind, just temporarily affected by the lighting explosion. It will pass soon..."
"Ah, then can you kiss me a bit lower... so my blindness can pass faster?" Wu Xie asked with a hint of a blush that Qiling could see quite clearly despite the faint illumination of those remnants of the blue fire give to their resting place.
"Anything broken?" Qiling asked first, enjoying Wu Xie's further embarrassment for been ignored.
"No... just some cuts on my back..." Wu Xie pouted and Qiling smirked for a second. It looked that his beloved was in haste of have another taste of him... he was quite young, so he could understand the passion of youth, but even if he was equally itching to kiss that pouting mouth, he needed to make sure that Wu Xie was fine and have no serious injuries that could put his life at risk for not been properly take care of in time.
"Let me take care of them first." Qiling said as he pulled Wu Xie closer and gently run down his hand over Wu Xie's back in search for the wounds he had told him. The innocent act, however sent tremors down Wu Xie's back, which only make Wu Xie blush deeper as he try to swallow a pleasure moan, instead of a pained one. However, Qiling once again ignored the physical reaction and keep his careful and gentle search on Wu Xie's back, until finding the tears on his clothes were wet blood stick to his fingers. There Wu Xie did moan in a bit of pain.
