(Thanks for the art, Stardustdragon345 ! I love it!! And also this is the exact same night that Ice was tricked into taking Fuzz and the gang to the park, but this is like a mini thing for all you Furtle fans! ❤️)
*Fuzz's POV*
I it had been an hour since I had went to bed, and I tossed and turned in my nest.
I hope Ice is okay.... Is he hurt?
I'm kinda scared. I'm an outlaw now, and me and my friends are probably the most wanted cats in the universe.
What would've happened if I had left Turtle when I figured out her secret? I don't know. Maybe it would've been better that way.
But a little voice inside me is telling me that without these cats, I wouldn't have ever been fighting for what's right.
I probably wouldn't have even survived the dog attack.
I walked over to the puddle to get a drink. By the taste of it, it wasn't the cleanest water ever, but I guess it was better than the water that I thought was water in the sewer.
"You can't sleep?" I heard Turtle's voice break my thoughts, and I spun around in the direction of her voice, my fur on end.
"Y-You scared me!" I mewed, and silently added, "And yes. I can't sleep. I'm worried about Ice. I'm worried about our future as a....." I searched for the right word. "Family." I felt a tail on my shoulder, patting me.
"Me too," Turtle responded, her voice filled with concern. "I've been running from my brother for, well, a long time." I felt her sit next to me, and she shuddered.
"Thanks for saving me from the pound," I mewed to Turtle. "I probably would never have lived with those wounds." I licked a scar, which judging by the distance, was on my shoulder.
"You can thank Ice for that," she replied, and let out a small purr. "He's been such a wonderful friend to me. He's defended me since we became friends as kits. My brothers were always jerks to me, and Ice stood up for me."
"What happened in your past, anyways?" I asked, trying not to sound rude.
"The stars are really pretty tonight," Turtle meowed, trying to change the subject. I could tell she didn't want to talk about it, so I dropped the subject.
"I can't see the stars," I sighed, and looked in the direction that I think is down. "Well, not anymore." I could tell Turtle felt bad for me.
"They look like little opportunities to escape the darkness that surrounds them," she explained, "Like gateways to another world. Hope when there's so much grief. These are stars to me."
I tried to image stars, and tried to remember the times when Dad and Benny would gaze up at them. I turned to Turtle.
"Turtle," I whispered softly, "There's something I want to tell you." I felt Turtle shift, and I guessed that she was looking at me.
"What is it?" She asked, her voice full of wonder.
"You're like a star to me," I said, my heart's feelings fluttering up into my mind. "You're beautiful, and I like you. I love you." Turtle purred softly, and I could tell she was shocked as well as touched.
"But you can't see me," she meowed sadly. "How do you know I'm beautiful?"
"I know I can't see you," I responded. "But the fact that you've been by my side and supporting me this long...." My voice trailed off. "Is a wonderful thing. Even when you knew what I looked like without my mask, you still took me in."
"I.... I love you too, Fuzz." Turtle meowed, and her tail twined with mine.
I felt her muzzle touch mine, and my fur grew hot as an amazingly odd sensation surged through me. It was like I was floating on a cloud. I even felt like my paws left the ground. The feeling faded away, and I sighed a small sigh.
Turtle kissed me!
