꧁꧂"MEIN GOTT," I cursed, immersing myself from the past few minutes I spent sprinting like an absolute idiot, and almost getting hit by a car in proceeds to be punctual to my own party.
[Translation: My god]
It was stupid really, as the Uber would be able to spare a minute or so; but obviously I'm a little dull from the weariness of pouring practically my entire consciousness into revising.
The Uber driver's gaze felt scrutinizing as I shifted uncomfortably, gesturing for him to drive.
After a ridiculous amount of traffic and time, I finally caught a glimpse of the sumptuous restaurant, that I would spend an absurd amount of my money by just eating food that is nonsensical since the portions are practically minuscule.
Nevertheless, I persevered since the cuisine was most definitely delicious and brimming with pure flavor. There was one thing that I would forever be enthralled by, which is food. I seriously have such a large endearment and longing for food.
It just makes my soul content.
As I entered the restaurant from it's magnificent glass ingress, I catch a glimpse of my one and only most dearest friend Alaina Renèe Muradova.
She was draped with the finest of emerald green silk, with intricate golden embroidery decorated throughout her lehenga which absolutely left me in awe.
She was the epitome of confidence and class and I looked at her with adoration, as she conversed with our fellow peers.
Her eyes lit up as soon as she caught a sight of me, jaw slightly agape as she inched towards me whispering "Evæni alaṁkārayak," her faint Sinhalese graces her voice as she finally translated herself.
"You look stunning, see satin does look breathtaking on you!"
[ Translation: Such a beauty]
She leaned in for a hug as she guided me towards the table as my breath hitched, suddenly anxious about the unfamiliar gazes which soon evaporated; when all the different faces shifted into warm, welcoming smiles.
I finally felt somewhat comfortable as I offered a light smile in return, as they all introduced themselves wishing me the most blessed nineteenth birthday ever.

As time passed and I blew the candles wishing for a prosperous year, we all exchanged numbers and laughs as I felt finally as if I belonged, after a long night of comfortable silence then immediate conversing of warmth and kindness— I finally managed a profit from small social interactions, with numerous amounts of gifts from prodigies who steadily throughout tonight, became my new friends.
