The week almost passed by in a flash. Majority of the decorations had been made and were being set up the morning of. Dolores had helped put up the banners with the help of Casita and her younger brother to match her height.

Luisa carried a wagon filled with decorations in each hand before going to help out the town people. Isabela had put floral patterns on the pillars before she was whisked away with Abuela to go meet a boy she thought was the perfect match for Isa.

Dolores had noticed she hadn't seen much of her mother throughout that week. After that day Pepa had almost made it a top priority to stay away from her mother at all times. On the off chance she did see her mother, Pepa and Abuela would walk by each other in passing but never said a word, before the redheaded woman would go to her room and not be seen the rest of the day.

Whenever Dolores met with Alejandro during that week her behavior was a bit more bolder towards him. She would sit in his lap more, play with his hair when they laid together in the grass and kissed him longer, more often, and in different places each time. He never complained because he liked having her attention on him, and he even reciprocated her advances.

In reality her nerves were all over the place. After she decided she would take her mother's place in having a child she went back home and didn't speak a word to anyone, she couldn't. How could she explain what it was she had planned when everyone else had their own problems.

When the night in question came, Dolores had to calm herself down enough to be around everyone in town. Little kids ran around playing and the grown ups conversed with one another about any and everything, usually something related to Isabela. The music played and people danced, it was kind of nice.

Dolores smiled when all of a sudden a pair of hands covered her eyes and she felt a kiss place behind her ear. " Te ves hermosa, mi amor ." She knew that voice anywhere. When he removed his hands from her face she laughed and turned to face him. Alex stood there with a bright smile as he looked down at her. " y te ves guapo, Corazon "

Dolores kissed his cheek before hearing a purposely made cough come from behind her. She turned around with wide eyes and smiled awkwardly. Her father stood behind her with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face."P-Papi! Uh.." She stepped to stand beside Alex and glanced at him before looking back at Felix. "This is Alejandro.. Alex, this is mi Papi, Felix."

Felix looked the boy over before his eyes showed recognition of his features. "You are Pedro's boy. " Alex chuckled lightly and nodded his head as he brought his hand out for the shorter man to shake. "Si, it's a pleasure to meet you, senor. "

Dolores looked at her father and saw him look at the hand presented to him before smiling. He grabbed Alex's hand and brought him into a hug. "Please, call me Felix, your padre and I were great friends growing up."

He let him out of the hug and placed his hand on the boy's shoulder. "How is Pedro? I haven't spoken to him in a while. I heard you were moving in a few weeks."

Dolores smiled as Alex and Felix fell into a comfortable conversation about his family and childhood adventures Felix had with Pedro. Eventually the conversation had ended and Dolores and Alex danced together before Abuela had stopped the music in order to acknowledge Isabela's birthday.
