That morning Alex woke up and made everyone breakfast before they left to start their search again. Alex went with Luisa on the far side of the fields, Pepa and Isabela took the area closer to town with Antonio, and Dolores was with Felix looking near the mountains. No one had found any clues as to where Mirabel had gone up until mid-morning when the church bell sounded off.
When they all finally arrived back, Dolores was stumbling over rocks to look around. Mirabel was being hugged by her mama and Augustin who seemed to have a run in with the bees again. Antonio had run over to Alex and was quickly picked up by the tall man with a smile on his face. Felix and Camilo were right in front of her, the shorter man jabbed his son for saying something and Camilo looked at him with a frown. "What? We don't have a house. I can't say that we don't have a house? What is that? Not a house."
Dolores rolled her eyes at him and looked over to her younger cousin and smiled. She was back, and she was safe. Isabela and Luisa had walked up from the other side of her as they all huddled closer to their broken home. Mirabel walked over the steps and looked around before turning back to us. "Look at our home. We need a new foundation."
The double meaning wasn't lost on anyone. Besides the fact that their home needed to be fixed, they had to acknowledge the problems within the family as well. Mirabel turned back around to look it over before giving her family a smile "It may seem hopeless, but we'll get by just fine."
She grabbed at Isabela to pull her in and for the first time in a while Dolores saw her smiling at her younger sister. Everyone began going in and Mirabel gave everyone a soft and loving look that they returned "Look at our family. We are a glowing constellation, so full of stars, and everyone wants to shine."
Dolores stood next to Camilo as they walked in, and they made their way near their parents. Dolores could see Antonio standing next to Isabela and hugging Mirabel as he smiled at her before feeling Alex wrap his own arms around her. She smiled when he kissed her cheek. "I told you everything would be fine, mi amor." Dolores nudged her head against his before She felt Antonio running into her legs.
Luisa started to move some of the broken stone out of the way until she got to one that was too big, and Mirabel helped her push it out the way before she gave her sister a smile. "But stars don't shine, they burn. And Constellations shift...I think it's about time you have all learned that you are more than just your Gifts."
Their Abuela had come in from the doorway with a sorrowful look as she stared at Julieta and Pepa. "I'm sorry that I held on too tight. I had gotten so blind I couldn't see what was in front of me, and I feared I would lose the two of you as well. But now I see.." She turned around to lead Bruno in. Dolores smiled when she saw him as everyone gasped.
"The miracle is not about your gifts, it's just you. All those years ago you were my miracles, and I let the magic get in the way of that. The miracle is you, all of you." Bruno looked so out of place, he gave out a little wave and Julieta and Pepa ran to hug him with tears in their eyes and he patted their backs lightly.
Camilo looked at Dolores before everyone else with a confused face. " Okay...so we are going to talk about Bruno?" Antonio smiled and Dolores chuckled and he pointed at the man in green who he knew as his great uncle. "That's bruno."
The man in question nodded his head and scratched at his arm awkwardly. "Yeah... there's a lot to say.." he turned to His sister in yellow and grabbed at her hands and began to apologize about the wedding fiasco. Felix came up beside Pepa on the other side and gave him a smile. He then turned to the eldest triplet with sad eyes.
There's actually a lot of apologies I have to say.." Julieta hugged him close and Pepa joined in. "Hey, we are just happy that you are here, okay? We missed our baby brother. And now the triplets are reunited and whatever happens we'll find our way through it together."
Just then Alma had looked over to Dolores and Alex with regret in her eyes. When she stood in front of the young couple she sighed. "I know what I've done and said are unforgivable, but I still want to say that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so controlling. I should've been more understanding, and Dolores I should've handled the news about Antonio better than what I did."
Alma's eyes went from hers to Alex and then the scar that now adorned his cheek before meeting his eyes. "I want to apologize for hurting you. You are a very strong willed man, Alejandro and If you truly make Lola happy then I will respect the relationship you have with her and the role you play as Tonito's father.. "
Dolores glanced at him and his eyes met her for a second. She looked at the mark on his face before caressing it lightly. Alex leaned into her palm a little before moving away and looking back at the older woman in front of them. "Senora Alma, I appreciate your apology, but it will take me some time to come to terms with everything. I hope you can understand." She gave him a small nod before Dolores gave her a small smile as she walked off.
Before anyone could say another word they all could hear multiple wagons and feet moving. Antonio went to the entrance way and stared in shock. "I think it's everyone in town!" Sure enough when they walked out they saw the whole town. They had brought all kinds of supplies and said they wanted to help rebuild their home.
With everyone in high spirits they made it quick work to divide up the tasks to get started on rebuilding Casita.
