I didn't see the boys until dinner. The classes across the day were your usual school bullshit, it had me bored out of my brain. So when the 3 pm bell rang I almost cried with joy. The girls said we have 3 hours of free time/ study time before dinner was served at 6. We went up to our room and did some of our homework while snacking on food that Sienna had stolen from the kitchen.

"So you and Dean?"

I looked up to Tiana who had a knowing smirk on her face, "I saw how he was with you."

My face was bright red and I tried hiding with my hair making the girls break out in laughter.

"You should have seen how red she was when he was talking to her! It was absolutely adorable."

I look up and giggle, "Well I couldn't help it. He's really cute!"

The both laugh at me, "Look at little Lyssa, shes got a crush!

"OMG! Thats such a cute nickname! Lyss!"

Sienna sat up and moved towards me and used her pen to 'knight' me, "I now dub thee, Lyss of YBC. Got forth and protect your people and your kingdom."

We all fall to the ground and cackle.

"What the fuck is 'YBC' Sienna?"

"Young bitch club."

"Oh I thought it was 'Young, Brock and Charles'."

"Guess that works too."

I roll my eyes and get up from the fall, "Come fellow 'Young Bitches', we have dinner to attend to."

"Yes Sir Lyss! Lead the way."

We stumble out into the hall, giggling and pushing one another closer to the cafeteria. When we arrived the selection of meats were all paired with some sort of carbs.

"Hey, guys, why do we eat this? Like what do ghouls eat?"

They looked at me stunned, "you're joking, right? What do zombies eat in comics?"

"...Brains?"

"Correct, it's a similar concept, except we must eat flesh, so to substitute human flesh they just use raw animal meat. Plus white carbs are easy to digest for us and give us a sugar hit."

"Oooooooh, I get it now."

They laugh at me, hand me a tray, and lead me back to the table we ate breakfast at. Mason, Cooper, and Dean sat there waiting for us.

"Good evening ladies~ What have you been up to?"

We honestly didn't get much homework done, we were too busy talking about Dean. I hope the girls don't say that-

"Talking about Dean."

Why.

The boys broke out into a gruff laugh but Dean couldn't hide the flustered look he was sporting from a simple comment.

"No way were you talking about Dean. Why? Cause you think he's cute?" Mason shouted as he wiped his tears of joy.

"That is exactly the point my idiot brother. You see he's just so much better than you and Cooper combined."

I try to make myself smaller to avoid the argument that Sienna and her brother have created. I silently sit and watch the twins shout back and forth about who's cuter when someone taps my shoulder. I look over to see Dean sitting directly next to me with a soft smile.

"Are they always like this?"

He chuckles, "Most of the time, yes, but I'm not normally the subject of their debates."

"You're calling it a debate? That's an argument."

He laughs again and shakes his head, "Just wait, they'll start pulling out statistics soon. That's a debate. Plus as much as they 'debate', I've never seen them angry with one another."

Just as I was about to answer Sienna screamed something new, "Out of three girls, all three think he's cute. Therefore Dean is cuter than you, Mason."

"That doesn't count when one of the three girls is my sister!"

She laughs at him before turning to the rest of the people in the cafeteria, "Raise your hand if you believe that Dean Adams is cute, adorable, hot, or all the above."

Almost every girl's hand raised, some guys raising theirs too, making Sienna turn around to Mason with the biggest smirk that it took up her whole face.

"You lose Brother. Dean is cuter"

I couldn't help but laugh, "Did you really just ask everyone here if they thought Dean was cute?"

She nodded, a serious look making me second guess my statement, "Yes, Lyss. I must beat my brother at all costs. If I gotta ask a bunch of people to prove my point. It shall be done!"

She waves her hand in the air like she had declared war, only it was against her brother. I looked over at Dean and smiled.

"Guess you weren't expecting most people sitting in this cafeteria to think you're cute? It must be an honoring experience."

He chuckles, "It sure is, especially when your best mate's sister believes the same thing."

"Oh yes, I can see how great that is for you."

We laugh and I can't help but feel at peace. I really was missing out on not having friends at school. These people made every minute of my first day enjoyable even if the class made me bored out of my brain.

"What are you thinking about 'Lyss'."

"Oh, are you going to start calling me that now?"

"Only until I can think of a nickname for you myself. So what are you thinking about?"

I chuckle, "Nothing really."

"It can't be nothing, you looked genuinely happy."

"That's because I was, I'm so happy that I met you and the others. My human school made me miserable. I just didn't realize I would have to turn into a zombie to get friends that I had been hoping for my whole life."

His eyes went soft but his smile never faulted, "I'm sorry that you had to get to that point to get the happiness you deserve Lyss."

He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into a side hug, "Welcome to the crew Alyssa."
