Fake out to break out.

Wolfbrine sat in a cage, her head pounding. Even though it was the middle of the night, and she should grab the few hours of sleep they were given. She had always been a bit of an insomniac, but the last month since the whole Notch-trying-to-kill-them incident she had had a bit of a harder time sleeping. It had gotten even worse in the last week.

No, it wasn't the fact that death loomed around the corner at the wretched lab. Or that if Kobuk got word of their plan, he'd probably have...eh...harsh punishments that probably included a large dose of pain. While all these things probably had a factor, it was the fact that her plan was a bout to be put into action, and she had no control over how it worked out that currently would have her pacing.

If she could pace in her crammed cage, that is. The thought that her friends were risking her life for her made her sick. She felt no fear about putting herself in danger. Oh no, that she was fine with. But that it was Midnight and Poppy who were doing the riskiest part....ugh. If we escape, I am never going to do this again. She thought. No. Not if. When. When we escape. Because we ARE going to escape. She corrected herself.

It had been almost a week since they had originally formulated the plan. As the days went on, the knot on her stomach continued to twist tighter, threatening to strangle itself. So far, she had gone out several times, so had Poppy, Zero, and Blaze. But not Midnight. Yesterday, when Sky, the only one who haven't gone out, had been taken, they decided that there was a part of their plan that needed fixing.

Midnight would have to mouth them off so bad, they would practically to take her.

So here she was, crouching in a cage that burned her flesh and restricted her new found powers. But not for much longer. No, not for much longer.

A FEW HOURS LATER
"Wakey wakey freaks!" The harsh voice bounced around the room. Wolfbrine groaned, uncurling from the ball she'd been sleeping in. "Hmmmmm. Who shall join the part today?" Kobuk looked at them smugly from the walkway, his silver suit seeming to suck in all the light around him. "How about..." His eyes, behind dark glasses of course, darted over the bedraggled shapes of his captives.

"Oooh. How about Blaze? We haven't seen you in a bit!" Wolfbrine swore under her breath. Hopefully, Midnight would pull this off.

"Hey Kobuk!" Midnight's defiant voice rang out. Wolfbrine gave her a grim smile, then shhed her. "Shhhhh!" "No I won't Shhhh! Kobuk, you pile of pig dung, I am fed up with this! Why are you doing this?" Kobuk's head snapped to look at her. "Your very luck Blaze. This IDIOT decided she wanted to take your place!" He hissed.

Wolfbrine let out a small breath. Good. Everything going to plan. Kobuk motioned to his guards. "Take that one." He pointed to Midnight. Her cage whirred, and slowly lowering to the walkway. Midnight gulped.

When the guards attempted to take her out of the cage, she gave them a pain. Lots of pain, actually. Midnight was a whirlwind of kicking and punching and stuff. Finally she went down (after a blow to nature's snooze button, the head), and was dragged away.
Wolf turned to Poppy, hope on her eyes. "Did ya get it?" Poppy smiled and nodded. And for the first time on many weeks, Wolf smiled.
