spaceace x catman - easy thing to lose

Tw: violence/death.
This takes place on Jendell. Peter and Ace fight deadly creatures. Who will turn out alive? Who will finally admit his feelings? Jendell gets no more than 4 earth hours of light per 25 earth hour day. The light they get is no brighter than an hour before sunset. At night, there is no light pollution so you can see all of the stars in the sky. Person from jendell - jen. People from jendell - jena. Ps this might turn into a whole story so yeah.

Spaceace pov

I was enjoying the sunshine at noon as I sat in my yard on the grass. Today was so beautiful, but lately there have been these reports of fires going up from nothing. Like just the other day, a whole street of houses burnt down with no source of how it started. But there have also been torn parts in the grass around the houses. Like someone was shoveling a small canal two times in a row. It only happens at night when it's pitch black for two hours. Whoever is doing this is being very cautious and going out when it's feeding hour for the dangerous wildlife we have here. Some people think it could be a new creature, but how would it just show up? Creatures don't just show up from no where. Someone is doing this.

One of the believers in these new creatures is my friend, catman, but I like to call him kitty. He believes that this ancient creature from the beginning of our society has risen after millions of years. But he's really into dragons and fairies and stuff like that so if course he believes it. Although so do a lot of jena. But I don't because it truly is unrealistic. I see catman coming my way and roll my eyes.

"Hey spacey. Ok. So I think I have proof that these zodon have reappeared. You know how there are marks in the ground from the fires?" Kitty comes up to me and says.
"Yes. I do catman. And you can't convince me that dragons are real." I say, getting fed up with his desire to convince me. He rolls his eyes.
"Well, I found this," he shows me what looks like a small shard of metal, "and I thought 'well that's weird. Why is metal in the grass?' So I went to a chemical testing place and they found dna that dates back to the arrival of these creatures." He said.
"So science proves your whole theory is what your trying to say?" I chuckle and he looks at me with a sad expression.
"Fine then. I'll stop trying to prove it if it makes you happy." He said and I stand up.
"Catman," I put my hand in his shoulder, "you don't have to stop looking into it just because I don't believe it. I just don't believe it." I say and look into his eyes.
"It's almost like your disappointed that I believe it. And I don't want to disappoint you, so I'll stop. Maybe go out and look for whoever is doing this instead." He says and I get worried.
"No kitty! You know it's way to dangerous to be out during feeding hour. At least without proper gear." I smirk and he looks up.
"Really?" He smiles.
"Really. Why don't you stay over tonight and we can try to find who's doing this?" I reply and he agrees.

*time skip*

It was getting late and kitty and I were preparing to bust whoever was committing these crimes. We put on all of our gear (dynasty outfits) and headed out. He looked so cute in the starlight, which would soon disappear as our planet faces the void where there is no light.

"You ready?" I ask him, although I'm slightly scared. I don't like to admit it, but I have begun to believe in zodon after some of the recent evidence some jena have found.
"Yeah." Kitty replies sadly. We burst out out ultra bright flashlights and started looking around where the recent fires have been. All of a sudden we hear a high pitch almost scraping sound. Peter turns around and see nothing. We both look back each other, still holding hands from when it first got dark out so we wouldn't get lost.
"I-I know you don't believe, but that sounds like-" He started.
"Zodon." We said in unison.
"I thought you didn't believe?" He replies.
"I slowly started to believe, and even did my own research before we went out. That sounds like what it would sound like. It must be close." I say, slowly panicking. They can do much more than just start fires. They are massive, like up to 30 feet long. And they have 5 inch talons that can rip through a jens flesh like cold butter on bread. Easily and painfully.
And they can fly up to 100 feet. They're nearly impossible to fight, but if that's what will stop the fires, so be it.
"Alright. So. We can either try to fight it, or let it live and keep starting fires, possibly wiping out jena." I say, slightly trembling at the thought that I might lose him either way. Truth is, I've loved him for the longest time. But I don't know if he's gay or bi, let alone like me back.
"Alright. No matter what, we'll die eventually. Wether it's tonight fighting them or later in a fire." He said, resting his hand on my shoulder. Tears started forming in my eyes when he said that. I couldn't stop myself from pulling him into a tight hug and sobbing onto his shoulder.
"I-I can't lose you." I say quietly.
"Hey. It's gonna be ok. It's bound to happen at some point." He says, only making me cry harder.
"I-if I lose you...I-I'll lose...the only...the only jen I've ever loved." I say the last part quietly. He loosened his grip on me.
"You...you love me?" Kitty says and his eyes start to water and I nod.
"I...I love you too." He says as he tightens his grip on me again. I hear the scraping sound of claws again, before seeing a burst of flame come from behind him.
"Ok Kitty, what do you wanna do?" I ask, staring at the store that was now on fire.
"Fight. For jena, for Jendell, but most importantly, to save you." He says and I squeeze his hand once more before we charge off.
"Woah. That thing is massive. We're gonna need a plan." I say, staring at the size of the zodon.
"Yeah. Ok. So umm. You can electrocute it with your lighting to make it weak, then I can tear it apart with my claws." Kitty says quietly and I nod in agreement.
I levitate off the ground as I build my energy to zap it, however, it heard me and turned around.
"ACE! MOVE!" I hear kitty say and break focus as I am hit with the zodons massive claws. Luckily, my armor protected me, but it was still scarred through. I tumbled out of the way before it shot its fire at me, which would have hurt me badly if I didn't fight back with lightning. I knocked it down for a minute, giving kitty time to shred it with his claws, but he didn't have enough time. I would have created more lightning if I had the energy, but I didn't. Kitty was too close to have time to run away. As soon as the zodon got up, it was bleeding and even more angry than before. I was too weak to move, so I had to watch kitty get torn to bits by the zodon.
"CATMAN!!!" I shouted, reaching out, as my kitty was being tossed and mauled apart by the dragon.
"Sp-spacey!" He choked out. He was bleeding heavily and with the strength I had, I fought off the zodon myself.
"You might have hurt me. But NOTHING will hurt my kitty!" I shouted with one last blast of lightning, killing it, then rushing over to catman.
"Please. Don't leave me." I held his head in my hands and cried onto his face.
"F-fox." He said and I looked at him confused.
"What?" I ask.
"Go there. With me." He said, before he stopped breathing. I gasped, looking at the man I could have had a future with. The last thing he said to me was 'fox.' What did that mean? I thought all night about it after I took him back to my place.
The next morning, I saw someone outside. The fox. Is that what kitty meant? I decided to go out, dried tears on my face.
"Hey." I say quietly.
"Oh. Hi. Is everything ok? Where you crying?" He asked sympathetically and resting his hand on my shoulder. I started tearing up again before I fell into him.
"Hey, what's wrong? Do you wanna talk about it?" He hugged me.
"It's kitty. He-he's gone." I sob.
"Maybe not. How long has it been since he died?" He asks, still hugging me.
"Like...5-6 hours?" I say and he lets go of me.
"Let me see him." He gives me a soft smile. I take him inside and he sees him. His face is torn up, right arm and left leg broken, and dried blood everywhere.
"Oh wow. How did this happen?" He asks and u tell him everything.
"Wow. Ok, well. I might not have a cool power like you two, but I can heal people, even after death. As long as 12 hours haven't passed." He says and gives me a comforting smile.
"It won't take long. An hour at the most." He says and puts his hand on him.
"Oh my god! Thank you! Thank you so much!" I pull him into another tight hug.
"Of coarse." He hugs back then parts from me again.
"I'll need to take him to my place, it isn't far." He says and I nod, wiping away tears.
"Ok. I'll see you soon." I say and kiss kitty's forehead.

*time skip*

It had been 45 minutes and I was anxiously waiting, although fox told me he would be back and alive in an hour tops. Suddenly, I hear a knock on my door and run to it, slightly feeling like he was gone for good. But, I pushed myself to open the door, tears filling my eyes again.
"KITTY! YOU'RE BACK!!" I shouted, hugging him tightly.
"I love you. Let's never do that again." He hugs back as I cry into his shoulder.
"Umm...there's something I've always wanted to do." He says as he parts from me.
"Wha-" I couldn't finish my sentence before he pressed his lips to mine. I was shocked but then melted into it. I could hear fox's footsteps and kitty walk into my house, never breaking the kiss.

*skip*

It was late and we were cuddling in bed.
"I love you so much spacey." He said into my chest.
"I love you too my kitty cat." I say and kiss his forehead.

I was gonna kill catman but I couldn't do it. I prefer this ending. But I hope u liked it.
