Chapter Fifteen

"Izzy stop harassing your brother!" Kyle shouted at the little girl trying to take her brother's toy. I looked over at them and smiled. Today Kyle and I were babysitting our grandchildren while my sister and Sophia were doing the same with Katie's children. Our kids were out for date night and decided to drop their kids off at our place. 

"But grandpa, Ben stole that toy from Raelynn" She whined while Raelynn looked over and her eyes widened. In Ben's hands was her stuffed elephant toy. 

"Benjamin Mackenzie! Give that back" The sassy little eight-year-old demanded from the little boy. Ben looked at her, testing her patience. 

"Give me the car and no one gets hurt," He told her calmly and she quickly gave him the car. I couldn't help but laugh. Ben smiled while walking over to me. 

"Did that amuse you, grandpa?" He asked me with his cute little grin while I picked him up. 

"You know Ben, you remind me so much of your mother. She was as strong-willed and just as opinionated" I told the sweet boy while he played with his new toy car. He grinned at me and I chuckled softly. Ben is definitely a mini Skyler. I looked at my handsome husband who was currently being dressed up by the girls. 

"Girls, you did a really good job. Your grandfather has never looked cuter" I told them and all the girls in the room laughed. Kyle glared at me but then smiled. 

"Watch it Eric or I'll tell them you want to be beautiful too" He warned me and I shuddered. The last time the girls dressed me up, I couldn't get rid of the teasing for a month. 

"Grandpa you want to be a pretty princess!" Izzy asked me with excitement and I was quick to protest. She started whining while Kyle was dying from laughter. I glared at the man I completely regret marrying right now and he smiled innocently at me. 

"No, I'm fine Izzy. How about you, Raelynn, and Cole go with Grandma Brianna and make cookies" I told them and they got all excited. They ran over to my sister who was happy to take them into the kitchen. I looked down at Ben who has somehow fallen asleep in my arms. I smiled at the little boy before getting up and putting him down in the portable crib where he can sleep peacefully. Kyle came over to me and I wrapped my arms around him. 

"Still excited that we are now grandparents?" I asked him and he grinned. 

"Of course! We get all the benefits of them being cute and liking us and we never need to discipline them. We're cool with them, we're fun and when their parents tell them no we get to tell them yes" He explained and I laughed. He's completely right. It's easier just playing with them and watching them grow than being the ones that need to tell them no. I do feel bad for my daughter who will be dealing with Izzy and Ben when they become teenagers though. 

"You're right, we get to sit back and relax," I told him while pecking his lips. Kyle smiled before playing with my now silver hair. 

"You are totally a silver fox you know that?" He said while giving me that look that I'm all too familiar with. I smirked at him while pulling him closer. 

"You're really sexy in that princess dress. How about once Skyler and Katie come pick up the kids, we have a meeting in my office Mr. Santiago?" I asked him seductively and he smirked in return. 

"I would like nothing more Mr. Dempsey" And he kissed me passionately. I still can't believe I have this amazing man in my life. He's simply perfection.
