Chapter 7:

I saw Betty getting her shoe from the man. She smiled back at me and said that we could leave. I was still stunned from what I had just remembered, so it took me a second to adjust back to reality. I followed her out of the tattoo parlor and went back to the car.

Jughead's pov:

We arrived back at Betty's house and we went back to her bedroom. The maids gave us weird looks as we walked through the kitchen, I'm sure they have been gossiping about us the entire time we have been gone.

Betty turned to me and said "Jughead, honestly I don't think it's a big deal if we don't remember everything about last night. If we really can't remember all of that, it must be good. I'm sure we made some bad decisions, so want to agree to forget whatever we know?"

I sighed quickly in relief. "Of course. I think that is a great idea, lets's just move on because like you said, we probably made some bad decisions." My entire body felt like a 500lb weight had just been lifted off of me. Her saying this just made all of my worries disappear. She won't find out about anything else that happened that night and we can move on with our life.

After I responded, Betty smiled and then picked up her phone to call her dad. She talked with him for a few minutes and then said that we should go over and visit him. He needed help with one of the cars.

Betty and I started to walk downstairs until she got a phone call from one of her employees. She mouthed for me to keep going and that she would catch up. As I walked through her house, I realized all of the gorgeous and detailed architecture she had. This made me admire her even more.

When I got to the bottom floor, her driver was there waiting on me. As soon as I greeted the driver, I got a text from Betty. The text reads "Hey, so so sorry! I have to run into work for a little while. Go ahead and help my dad with the car. I'll be over eventually!" I quickly responded and then got into the car.

The ride seemed shorter than the drive over to Betty's house. I arrived at her father's house and greeted him in the garage.

J: "Hey Mr. Cooper! How are you doing this morning!"

Mr. C: "I'm doing fine this morning, Jughead. Where is my daughter? Did you love birds hit it off last night" He said with a wink

J: "She just had to go into work for a while. One of her employees called, but she said she would be here later." I responded quickly

Mr. C: "So did you not hit it off?" He asked in an eager tone

J: "Oh um well I don't think anything big happened. We are just friends, for now, Mr. Cooper." I stammered as my face turned tomato red

Mr. C: "Ah alright I see how it is boy. We're going to work on that alright. Now, let's get working on this ole girl. She was giving me trouble as I started her up. I want to get her on the road before Betty's birthday. She has always loved this car and I want it to be a surprise."

I grabbed some tools and started working on fixing the car. The entire time I wondered what Betty was doing at work and how long it would be until she got here. With her father pushing for us to get together and with what happened last night, I started thinking about when she would finally realize how good we are for each other.

This thought quickly left my mind when Mr. Cooper waved his dirt-coated hand in front of me and told me to focus on the car instead of his daughter. I'm sure that he said that just to be funny, but it got me wondering if he actually knew how strong the feelings I had for her were.

We worked on the car for a few more hours then went inside for dinner. Betty still hadn't shown up or even texted. Maybe she went back home and decided not to come over after all. If that was the case, it could be a good thing honestly. I would be able to have some alone time to think about everything that has happened.

Over dinner, her dad asked me where my motorcycle was. My jaw dropped. I had completely forgotten that I drove over to Betty's house.

"Oh, I didn't feel like driving over here so I just had Betty's driver bring me" I replied quickly trying to get rid of any suspicion he might have. Mr. Cooper nodded and continued eating his dinner. My mind became flooded with thoughts of that night with Betty and I'm sure her dad could tell I was thinking about her. I finished dinner, said goodnight to Mr. Cooper, and rushed up the stairs to bed.

Authors note:

SO SORRY FOR MY ABSENCE!! I got so stuck on trying to remember where I was heading with the flashbacks from the night, that I just decided to leave it in the past. I may bring up a flashback later in the book for Betty, but otherwise, I'm finished with them. I quickly just wrote up this chapter and I'm working on the next few which will be released sometime this week. Now that I disregarded the rest of the flashbacks, I will be writing more since I'm not trying to remember what I had planned months ago. I hope you all enjoy this chapter, I know it is probably anticlimactic. So many of you have requested that I continue this book and update it, so here is the next chapter! In the meantime, check out some of the other books I'm working on!!
