The round, wooden clock in the Public Library ticked each second in the natural silence that is always expected in the building.

Hira was sitting in front of a large table, which was for four, across from Kael. She raised an eyebrow at him and looked at the contract she had given him a moment ago. The new deal; she would service him as a payback for the debts he'd paid off for her. She actually wanted to do this for him and it was, in a way, thanking him. This was her way.

Kael finally reached into his inner pocket in his blazer and signed on the contract. "I guess all is done," he nodded, after putting the pen back into his clothes.

          "Thank you!" She said smugly.

A passerby whispered for her to be quiet.

Hira whispered back an apology. "Right, when can I start?" she asked in a whisper.

          "Whenever you want," Kael offered.

"OK, after I have a talk with my mum," she nodded. "Ah, I think I better start today."

"Sounds good," he nodded. "I'll go with you to your house."

"That's fine," she sighed and leant back into her chair. She looked around at the shelves on her right and they sparked her interest. She loved the read but had rarely got a chance to finish a novel.

Kael followed her gaze. "What are you looking at?" he asked.

She glanced at him and then nodded her head at a young man looking through a book as he walked to the librarian, who was typing something in the computer behind a desk. "That guy over there," she said provokingly.

Kael appeared to be hurt for a moment but recovered just as swiftly. "You better not," he muttered under his breath jealously.

          "Why, jealous?" she teased.

"Babe, you'd be the jealous one, after hearing that millions of girls are still dying to go out with me," he retorted, and stowed his copy of contract in his outer blazer's pocket.

"Man-whore," she snapped. She took her own copy of the contract, folded it up and pushed it into her bag.

Hira heard him whistle slightly as he came round the table and sat next to her, with her slightly turned away from him as she casually people watched ... in the library. Which wasn't the scenery to be hypnotised by, but she didn't like the part when Kael told her how he had dated so many girls. He was seated to her left now and she felt his fingertips smoothing a strand of hair behind her left ear. "If that's not jealousy, then I don't know what is," he said into her ear, his voice low and sexy.

She closed her eyes and forced herself not to shiver in front of him. When she opened her eyes and turned to him. "I'm not jealous," she corrected, which only made him more interested. "What do I care if millions of girls still want to go out with you?"

"I will make you admit it," he told her.

"Why not read a book and raise your IQ a bit more?" she retorted, and her face blazed in red when he chuckled at her. "Are you making fun of me?" she demanded.

He tried to hide his laughter and shook his head. "No."

          "Yes, you are!" she argued.

"Our first, real fight," he sighed and reveled in the glory.

"I can't believe you," she stage whispered. What is wrong with me? she contemplated, Why am I so angry at him? Am I this jealous? Oh, my God, no! Jealousy is one of the first things that ruins a relationship. If father was alive today, he would've scolded me and told me to grow up and stop acting jealous, and just trust my and Kael.
