"I need your help." He whispered. His eyes were looking down at the table and his long finger traced imaginary shapes upon it.

"With?" I said curiously. I perked up slightly, leaning in I placed my chin on my palm. Kyle chewed on his bottom lip as if he was carefully thinking out his every word. I noticed the little details on his face, like the trail of light freckles that danced across his nose and tiny birthmark on the right side of his nose. A small smile tinted my lips.

"I heard you're a pretty creative person and I was wondering if maybe you could help me ask Danny to prom?" He asked. I felt a hint of disappointment in my chest but what did I expect? For him to prom-pose to me the first time he's ever met me? Yeah kinda. Sighing I looked down at the faux wooden table. I took my bottom lip between my teeth and started to peel the dead skin off.

"What do you say?" He pushed, I glanced up at him with no emotions. Truth is I wanted to scream at him that he could go fluff himself. Instead he pushed out his full bottom lip and pouted, his big eyes looking sweet and gentle. I felt my heart flutter, but I didn't want to be used. Still chewing on my lip I stared at him. He was a beautiful human... I particularly enjoyed his wavy hair. It was messy and everywhere kinda like my life

"I don't know." I muttered.

Kyle lunged across the table and grabbed my cold hands and wrapped them in his. His face leaned into mine to the point where we were only inches away and I swear I was hyperventilating. I looked directly into his eyes and he looked into mine. I couldn't help but glance down at his red lips. They just looked so warm and inviting.

"Please?" He whispered. I opened my mouth and closed it, I didn't know what to say. I mean I know what I wanted to do but um not in public.

"Isn't Prom like in March or something?" Kurtis spoke up. I jumped in my seat, I had almost forgotten he was here. I pulled my hands away from Kyle and sat flat against my seat. Sighing in relief, I checked the time on my phone. It was only 12:40 so that meant there was still at least 20 minutes to survive lunch. Internally groaning I pulled my water bottle out of my black messenger bag and slowly twisted the cap off.

"It's never too early to start planning Kris." Kyle smirked. I narrowed my eyes at him and took a drink from my water letting the drink saturate my dry mouth.

"Kurtis has a point." I confidently stated correcting Kyle, "besides if you guys are good enough friends to go to prom together then you should be able to ask her alllllllll by yourself." I added in giving him a overly sweet smile. Kyle leaned his cheek against his palm and looked at me. He didn't say anything just looked at my face with a smile on his. I didn't know what it was about his stare that made me feel deja vu. It made me feel like I had known him once before. Stupidly I opened my mouth and said, "Did we have a class together last year.. or?" Kyle chuckled deeply. His laugh moved my heart strings, I couldn't help but giggle. Ew, I giggled.

"Yeah I think we had chemistry last year." He said, his eyes holding a twinkle of double meaning before drifting down to the table. I admired his long lashes, they reminded me of someone.. But yeah, the chemistry thing. I believe it. I didn't really like the class and I tend to repress memories that I don't really enjoy.

"Yeah, probably. I don't really remember many people from classes that I hate." I agreed. Turning over to Kurtis I politely touched his knee to wake him from his day trance. His eyelids snapped up from the ground and to me.

"Wha?" He mumbled. I squeezed his knee. He hadn't said much the whole time he was sitting with me. He just kinda sat there, I bet he was silently judging me.
