"And then, I walked over to her and give her a piece of paper with my phone number."

"Mhm, ya." Jimmy nodded, not looking at me because he was reading a book. Which book? Harry Potter. Obviously.

"Yeah, and afterwards the ghost of Thomas Edison came and told me that I would turn into a unicorn by the next Friday that would have all the planets aligned, creating an eclipse," I said when I realized he was totally and completely engrossed in his book. "Won't it be magical?" I added enthusiastically.

"Mhm," he mumbled.

"Seriously dude? You can't just pay attention for a second?" I asked. "I mean it's not everyday that a popular b'tch like Krissy Cunningham needs my help. Cunningham dude, Cunningham."

"Awesome man," he mumbled.

"Okay, that's it," I'm thoroughly annoyed now. "You," I said snatching is worn out book from his pale hands, "Will pay attention to me."

"Hey! Give it back!" He exclaimed, but I ignored him and continued.

"Will get your fangirling brain to pay attention to me. Now, I know that you don't match up to my intelligence, but please, at least try to keep up. Yeah?"

He sighed, "Ugh, fine. I'm listening."

"Good." I told Jimmy the whole story of how I made a deal with Krissy, up until the part where I sat down to lunch with him.

"But I don't get it, why would you make that deal with her? Even for Molly, I mean that girl's impossible." He questioned.

"I know that and you know that, but you also know how much Molly means to me."

Jimmy nodded making his curly blond hair bounce up and down. "Yeah, I do."

"Good," I said ending our conversation about my deal and took a bite of the lunch that I had made and packed last night. It had all the nutritional value that I needed, protein, starch, the works. I do not trust the school's lunch to give me what I, as a growing boy, needs. I do of course trust it to give me a heart attack and kill me.

"Okay then, now that we're done with that conversation, let's study," I said taking out my chemistry notes and placing them on the lunch table.

Jimmy furrowed his eyebrows questioningly. "But the test isn't even two weeks away."

"I know, in my defense though, I had my violin recital and had to put in an extra hour a day."

I laughed and Jimmy just rolled his eyes, he knew I studied anyway.

"Here," I said handing Krissy a stack of papers just after school ended. Don't ask how I found her locker, because trust me, if you were here, you'd realize just how easy it was. Her locker was the only one painted pink, had glitter on it and her name written out in diamonds.

"What the hell is this?"

"It's a contract."

"What the f'ck? A contract? For what?" Great God, this girl asks a lot of questions.

"For our deal, it basically just states some rules so I know that I'm not wasting my time," I gave her a pen and lifted up the first page of the contract, "Sign here," I said pointing to the page.

"Yeah, not until I read this."

"God, just sign it, it's nothing bad, promise."

She scoffed, "Your promises mean absolutely nothing to me."

"That goes both ways, chica."

"Wow, look at you being all 'Mr. Smarty Pants' and knowing your Spanish, your parents must be so proud," she said sarcastically.

I gave her a smug smile, "As a matter of fact, I'm in AP Spanish, and my parents are very proud of me."

"Yeah, yeah, I get it, Mama's Boy," she said smiling. So she thinks this is funny? Well, it's not, I worked hard to become my mothers favorite, it was hard work. Cleaning the house everyday, running all her errands, and getting straight A's, that part was actually easy enough though.

"Just sign the papers," I said.

She rolled her eyes, "Fine."

As Krissy was signing the contract, her shadows showed up. I'm surprised they didn't come any sooner.

"Hi," I said. They really weren't too bad, just had a little bit of the 'Krissy Devil' in them. Plus, I better start showing Krissy what it's like to be nice, not that she's going to notice but I gotta try.

The blonde one, Sandy, I think, nudged Krissy causing her to look up.

"Yeah, I know," said Krissy, "he's a piss off."

Sandy just shook her head and backed up a little, giving the dark haired girl a pleading look. Thankfully, for her sake, I think she got the message.

"I don't think that's what she meant," she said and then turned to me, "I'm Lottie."

Ah, so that's what her name is, good to know.

She extended her hand towards me, which I took as a sign of friendship and shook it.

"Charlie, but I think you already knew that."

"Mhm, I did," she gave me a smile, which lit up her eyes with amusement, "It's hard to forget the guy who offered to do the impossible."

I smiled back at her, "Yup, that's me, 'Mr. Do the Impossible," I turned my smile into a smirk, "Thanks for the praise by the way."

"Yeah, yeah," said Krissy giving me the contract, "take this and go away, you're giving me and my friends your nerd cooties."

Oh, how I wanted to hit her with a comeback of my own like 'better than getting your b'tch cooties' but I bit my tongue, and just took the contract.

As I was walking away I called back, "That, was lesson number one, bite your tongue, hold back your snarky remarks and move on with your life. You failed."

I heard her gasp behind me and I smiled. Boy, this'll be fun.
