~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I'm about to p'ss myself, that is the one sentence to describe what's happening right now. My god, Charlie's face when he came through the door, it was...priceless.
Cue the rippling and nostalgic music aka, the flashback...
I had went downstairs to wait for Charlie. I never go to welcome my guests, I just have Lidia-our housemaid, let them in and send them up to my room. This time was the only exception, I had absolutely no intention of missing Charlie's reaction to Chuck.
I sat down on the cream colored couch and turned on the TV for background noise while I surfed the internet on my iPad while my phone recharged. Exactly ten minutes later-just like Charlie said, I heard a frantic knock on my door. I slowly got up and busied myself with fixing my hair and straightening my shirt.
I could lie and say it's because my mother always told me to look presentable, but I'm not going to. I did it out of the mere pleasure of having Charlie squirm uncomfortably behind my door as he waits for me-his guardian angel, to open it up like his life depended on it because he can practically feel the daggers being shot at his back.
"Who is it?" I called out.
"Charlie," came his frantic reply.
"Who?" I asked feigning innocence.
"Charlie," he yelled.
"Oh, coming."
As soon as I turned the handle of the door and opened it up a crack, Charlie pushed it open and scurried in. His face was deathly pale, eyes wide and his jaw slack. He looked like he saw a ghost, scratch that, seeing a ghost would have been better than Chuck.
"What's wrong?" I asked him snickering as he slammed the door shut.
"What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong is the mammoth sized human you have watching your house and more importantly, me. The dude looked like he wanted to eat me a live when I drove up here," exasperated, he quickly ran his hands through his hair making it lay on his head oddly. "We played a game of 21 questions-literally, I counted-just to make sure I was 'legit.' Speaking of which, why didn't you tell him I was coming? This all could have been avoided," he asked looking at me.
"Oh," I said, an evil smile creeping up my face, "Must have slipped my mind."
He didn't respond, but instead busied himself with wiping his feet on the mat and hanging up his jacket on the rack that we have right by the door.
I went back to my iPad, laughing my a's off while he finished up rewiping his shoes. When I was done laughing, I laughed a little more just to make sure that he heard it, shatter his ego a little more than it already is.
Ripple...and we're back to the present.
After I was done my real, and then fake laughing attack, I looked up to find the scrawny dude gone.
"Charlie?" I called out, hearing a muffled 'here' in response. "Yeah, no duh genius," I walked towards where I thought I heard him answer from, "because I really thought you were whisked away to 'Magic Fairy Dust Pixie Land,'" I said sarcastically, "Where the hell is 'here'?"
"I believe it's 'Where is Here,'" he said coming out of the kitchen.
"Huh?" I asked dumbfounded. What is he talking about?
"What?"
"What the hell are you talking about, 'I believe it's 'Where is Here,' like what the f'ck are you talking about?"
