It was a hot summer day, Mukago works for her father's yam business. She is out picking yams from the farm (incase you don't know what they are they are basically sweet potatoes)
Mukago's pov:
Father: who said you can take a water break?!
Mukago: father please, I'm light headed and I need some time to breathe
Father: that's no excuse! You still gotta sell all of these!
He slaps her across the face
She falls on the ground crying as her father towers over her.
Father: honestly, you are a waste of space! Don't think about coming home until you sell all of that, and if you don't. No dinner for you tonight!
He walks away as she's sitting there shaking
Mukago: why does father hate me?
(1 week earlier)
Mukago: hey dad I'm back! I got this
She places 10 thousand yen on the table
Father: not enough...
Mukago: what?
he grabs her hand
Father: It's not enough! Your mother could've made more than this!
Mukago: mom was selling herself to other men so that's wh-
Father: maybe it's time to do that yourself...
Mukago: I'm only 13 dad
He punches her in the face
Father: like I care!
(1 week after)
I sit up and look at the sky, it's already night I hear footsteps as I look to my left. I see a boy approaching me he stops and gets to my level.
Y/N: hey are you ok?
Mukago: I, I'm not ok
You grab her hand and pull her onto her feet
My name is Y/N, what's yours?
Mukago: my name? Well it's-
Father: what are you doing?! You useless shit! You haven't sold a single one!
He goes to slap her but you stop his hand
Y/N: how much for all of these?
Father: ...30 thousand yen
He go into my pocket and pull out 50 thousand yen
Father: are you sure?!
Y/N: don't take it the wrong way, you shouldn't hurt your own daughter, so take this as a promise. Never hurt your daughter again, ok?
Father: I promise...
(Present day)
Father never kept his promise, his beatings got worse he even began to starve me. That 50 thousand yen is the most he ever gotten from... Y.../N.... wait a minute you shoot your eyes open.
Mukago: Y/N!
Susmaru: oh you're awake!
She licks her lips
Susmaru: do you really think you would get him that easily? I'm in love with him too.
Mukago: why though?
Susmaru: he saved my life, I owe it all to him
Mukago: he won't love you after he finds out that you are still loyal
Susmaru: I don't think so
A sinister smile grows on her face
