So... my teacher got onto the topic of Shakespeare today for a hot moment, and I thought to myself 'HMMMMMMMMMMMM. How does that cure my writers' block today?' It didn't. BUT. I did come up with this idea on the drive home so... enjoy! BTW I actually tried to plan this out, unlike all my other stories.

Nico POV

Today was the day. I stared into the pristine mirror, looking myself up and down. I ran a hand through my unkept raven-black hair and stared into my onyx black eyes. Today would be the day that I chose a 'wife'. My father, the king, insisted I marry a woman of royal heritage who lived nearby to form a strong truce with their kingdom. Yet I didn't want a woman. I know some pine at my castle window every day, sending their love smashing and crash-landing into my cobalt curtains, but I don't want anyone like that. I secured my pitch-black trousers, straightened my buttoned shirt, and secured a cloak over my attire before reaching to my head. My crown. It stood perfectly in the center. I frowned with displeasure. With the. nudge of my finger, it tilted on my head.

"Perfect." I announced, smirking. I began making my way to the ballroom. I thought I wouldn't meet anyone special there. I knew I wouldn't find love. But when I reached the ethereal room, I spotted them. The one for me.

Will POV

The majestic chariot buckled to a stop, giving me the chance to jump off. My leather shoes hit the stone ground, snow settled on the ground around my feet. I swiftly turned around to open the carriage for the princess: Drew Tanaka of Sidea (A/N Obviously made up), AKA the brattiest yet quite beautiful royal heiress. I offered my gloved hand, which she took a second to consider before swatting away and stepping out of the chariot. Her lilac slippers made quite the noise against the stone, and snow shied away from her as she began stood proudly on the road in front of the palace.

"Thank you dear Wilma. Here is to pay for your troubles." She said snottily, handing me a mutt biscuit. I was repulsed by the alarming warmth and dampness of the treat and threw it on the ground before following the heiress to the palace entrance. Silver lighting and heat hit me as I opened the door to the palace. Drew handed me another biscuit and strolled in, chin held high. I heard laughter and chatter as I followed suit. There were royal families bunched into groups, laughing and sharing drinks. Drew waved me off to the other servants.

"Go serve some drinks will you deary?" She said smugly before ushering herself into the crowd. I sighed and headed over, grabbing a tray awaiting me on the table. I attempted to place a single chalice on the platter, yet it slipped and almost crashed on the marble floor. However, a swift young servant jumped beneath me and caught the glass, giving me only a glimpse of his raven-black hair. The man stood and turned, and I stared awestruck at his windswept hair and sea-green eyes.

"Oh dear. I-I apologize-" I began. The young man smiled. A genuine smile that I thought I hadn't seen for years.

"It's fine. I dropped it my first time too, and that did not end well." He chuckled, placing the goblet on the table.

"Oh. I've forgotten to introduce myself. I'm William Solace, but I much prefer Will." I said, reaching out my vacant hand.

"I'm Percy." The servant said, reaching towards my outstretched hand. Instead of shaking it however, he pretended to punch my fist and mimicked an explosion as his arm retreated. I stared, confused.

"Fist bump." He laughed. I bright twinkle in his eyes and a mischievous smirk made me laugh along with him. Suddenly, trumpet horns sounded. Royal guards lined themselves up at the balcony and the king arrived, crown straight on his head. He cleared his throat.

"Welcome, one and all, to my dear son's ball! Here he will choose the woman who will strengthen the bonds between our kingdoms and solidify a friendship between our lands! And now, may I introduce my son, Nico Di Angelo of [Whatever Kingdom Name You Want]!" The king exclaimed, stepping aside. A boy about my age stepped into the light, and my heart went from a slow-walk to a 500-meter dash. From his tilted crown to his onyx eyes and majestic royal boots, I fell hard for him. But as I desperately wished for his eyes to fall on my own, he instead stared at the boy behind me, emotions running through his face. I turned. Percy was balancing goblets upon goblets, barely managing. I tried reaching for one, but he stopped my with one hand.

"Don't tou-" He began. But the goblets came crashing down, and I could only salvage one as the glass hit the marble and shattered into millions of pieces. Nico jumped in fright, but not as much as the rest of the room. I noticed a shadow lurking in the corners of the balcony, barely seen by the crowd, jumping in shock. A blonde maid was standing straight in the corner, grey eyes darting everywhere. They landed on Percy and conveyed emotions I didn't understand from this distance. A cry sounded throughout the ballroom, and I snapped back to reality.

"Young man! Y-you wretched little gremlin!" A king shouted. A bald man with small pig-like eyes stared straight at Percy. Immediately, an overwhelming stench of moldy cheese and saccharine copper tickled my nose, making it difficult not to gag.

"Father! Please leave Percy alone." Another princess shouted. She had bouncy curls of jet-black hair and ocean blue eyes quite alike Percy's. Her elegant gown trailed behind her as she approached the servant, who looked quite afraid of the king.

"Are you alright?" She whispered. Percy sighed, fear evaporating from his face as the king grumbled back into the crowd.

"Yeah sis." He whispered. So this was his sister? How come he was a servant then? I reached for the glass beneath them, hoping not to draw attention. However, Nico's father shouted once more.

"Maid! You, over there. Clean this up." He said, pointing to where I was collecting shards of glass. The sharp pieces tore at my gloves and cut into my skin, but I continued. A scurry was heard, and the blonde girl I had noticed earlier came down. She grumbled at the king and got down on her knees. Percy stared, mystified by the maid, and kneeled to assist her. Silence rang in the awkwardness of the situation, just the sound of glass against marble as the two collected the pieces. The king cleared his throat and shot a glare at the musicians. They began to play a symphony, and the crowd eased. I looked at the prince, but he wasn't there. Panic rose up my mouth. Where was he? Was he taken? Was he dancing? I turned to run up the stairs, but collided with someone. The figure fell back, and so did I. The crowd didn't stop for us, but they did part for the other person to fall back. However, I hit my head on someone's thigh and landed on a piece of glass.

"Ouch." I whimpered, standing up. I looked over to help the person sitting down in front of me and nearly fainted. It was the prince. Nico. He dusted himself and looked up at me.

"I am so so sorry your majesty!" I said, pleading. He raised his hand to signal me to stop speaking, and I realized it was cut. I felt in my pants for my medical pouch and pulled it out. I was skilled in medicine and healing, so I would probably be able to fix his hand.

"Do you mind if I... help you?" I asked, gesturing at his wound. The boy hesitated, yet held out his palm. As soon as I touched his hand, the prince's face flushed. Yet I could see him visibly glance in Percy's direction, watching him pick up the pieces of glass. I finished up the bandage and looked up at the prince. I opened his mouth, ready to ask about his obvious attraction towards Percy, but a scarily familiar voice interrupted me.

"What are you doing with my future son-in-law, servant?"

It wasn't Drew.

I turned and saw the king of Sidea, Drew's father, King Tanaka, and my scars throbbed.

And he was staring straight at my hand, which was holding Nico's. I knew I was in for some pain.
