Things seemed like they were getting better in Beacon Hills. Less supernatural activity was affecting the day to day life of the pack, Scott and Stiles made it to their Senior year still being best friends, Derek had stayed. Now, that's not to say things had been great the entire time, in fact, it was rough most of their highschool career. Scott and Stiles had been on rocky territory with each other for some time now and Stiles had put Scott on blast about being a better friend, a better alpha. After the nogitsune Scott became more of a shitty friend and things were in a very very gray area between the two for a big chunk of time. Things aren't perfect but at least they feel okay enough to spend time together on the weekend like they used to do all the time.

Whether it was them letting their guard down because of the lull in activity or just simply because it was Beacon Hills and things were drawn to the town, they aren't completely sure but this time it was witches. Because it can never just be something simple.

They didn't fight long, not once Stiles got hit with a spell. The witch cackled and disappeared, nobody knowing what was sent toward the boy or how it would affect him in the days to come, but as soon as she vanished in a cloud of smoke it was like she was never there. The pack could tell wherever she went it was out of town and out of their hair.

"You okay, Stiles?" Derek asked, helping the younger up from where he had fallen on impact.

Stiles wiggled his shoulders and shook his arms, "I feel fine. She just knocked me on my ass."

"If you notice anything weird you better speak up." Scott barked, giving the other a knowing look.

"Okay, dad." he responded with an eye roll.

A few days had passed and Stiles still didn't really seem to notice much that had been happening to him. He seemed fine. Maybe the witch really did just knock him on his ass just to give some sort of distraction and get the hell out of dodge. Stiles shrugged to himself, getting ready for school. He was almost there when he decided suddenly to pass the road he needed to turn onto to get to school and continued driving.

"Are you sure about this kid?"

Stiles nodded, "Yeah, let's do it."

"Dude, where the hell were you today?" Stiles turned watching Scott climb through his bedroom window.

Stiles laughed, "Look." he stuck his tongue out. It was slightly swollen and in the middle sat a silver ball.

"You skipped school to pierce your tongue?" The disbelief coming off of the other was suffocating.

"Uh, yeah?" Stiles scoffed, "what's the big deal? It's not like my grades are going to be impacted, I got them all fixed before the second quarter even started."

"I didn't even know you wanted to pierce your tongue..."

Stiles shrugged, "Yeah, I don't know, I never really thought about it. I just was on my way to school and felt like I should do it so I did."

"Are you feeling okay?"

"Yes. I'm fine. Seriously." Stiles groaned, dropping onto his bed.

The tongue piercing didn't really concern anyone too much. Stiles tended to do things without thinking most of the time. It didn't hurt anyone else so the pack had nothing to worry about, right?

Coach had them all lined up throwing the ball toward the net. Stiles was frustrated. He wasn't the best player, he knew that. But he was better! He was actually doing really well lately and he was having such an off day that he just couldn't seem to get the damn ball to go where he wanted it to, missing almost every single shot.
