Moora and I pack our suitcases into the trunk of my white Mazda and pile in, ready to start our trip to the infamous house. I connect my phone to the bluetooth and play some doja cat, trying to lighten the mood from the conversation we had previously. I was singing along to the songs playing through the car speakers when I saw Moor reach over for the volume dial, turning it down, I turn to her with a confused look

"what's up?"

"Who are these influencers that are staying at Uncle Corey's?" she asks

"I don't know, Corey didn't tell me we had influencers coming" I reply

"oh yeah, I saw it on instagram somewhere. I'm excited to meet them" she beamed

"so am I" I smiled back and leaned forward turning the volume dial and turned the music back up.

The rest of the drive to Uncle Corey's was filled with a mix of lofi pop and hiphop music, it was a short drive and there wasn't much scenery to look at, just trees and woods for miles. We soon arrived at the Conjuring house parking our car in the gravel driveway, I always hated driving on this gravel because it had the tendency to flick up and mark my car. I turned the car off and put up all the windows as Moor got out to get our suitcases out of the trunk.

"Hey Cia did you close the trunk?" I heard Moor call as I locked up the car.

"No I didn't why?" I called back a little confused

"It won't open" I heard her try pulling on the door but it wouldn't budge.

"hey let me try unlocking it" Moor gets frustrated easily over small things sometimes this was one of them.

I unlocked the car again and tried starting it up but the engine stalled.

"what the fuck.. it was fine earlier" I murmured to myself. I had changed the car battery yesterday and checked the oil and everything so I didn't understand why it wouldn't turn on.

"It's not turning on" I yelled out to Moor

"stupid hunk of junk" she said to herself before hitting the car

"I told you to get a new car ages ago, this is a prime example why." She was frustrated and I don't blame her. Neither of us liked this place, it had a heavy feeling, like the air was dense.

"did someone a say new car?" Corey yelled out as he opened the door to the house

"that was me. Ciana's stupid car won't turn on and now we can't get our shit out of the trunk" Moor
replied to him as I tried once more.

"Hey Moor I'll lift everything out over the seat" I suggested, I'll worry about the car later.

We entered the house and Moora immediately dropped her bags and gave Corey a hug. She had known him since birth, like literally. Him and her dad had been drinking at the bar watching a replay of the 1999 Super bowl final, broncos against the falcons when they had got the message her mom was in labor. However his phone had died and did not receive said message, therefore missing Moora's birth. However him and Corey rushed to the hospital when they found out. Probably the reason they divorced..

"Thank you girls so much for coming and looking after the house. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of you two." Corey said while hugging me.

"It's not worries we hadn't been doing anything and it'll do Moora some good." I replied looking around feeling many presences but keeping focused on the conversation.

"Excuse me" Moora glared at me

"She needs to forget about her stupid ex." I retorted snapping out of my daze

"Oh that bugger. She was a pain in the ass. Anyway I'm off. I love you guys so much. Also there's these two youtubers who are coming to investigate the house, They shouldn't be too much trouble for yous, just make 'em sign the waivers and give 'em a tour and they'll be fine."

"okay. What are their names?" I called out as Moora walked over to Corey's electric guitar collection.

"Sam and Colby! Bye girls!!" He slammed the door and drove off leaving us alone.
