Arriving back in Ordon Village, Link located whom he needed to speak to, dismounted Epona near the house with the bee hive, and headed over to the fair woman.
"Miss, I have the supplies for you." Link greeted her informatively.
"Fantastic! I knew you would do it, Master Link. Please follow me back to my house and I shall give you the sword." She stated cheerfully.
As she began to walk back to the small house, Link followed her with the baby supplies in his arms. Reaching the house, she opened the door and allowed him to go through first before herself.
"Please, if you could place those supplies on the table there, that would be perfect." She requested.
He didn't hesitate to do what he had been asked, and once the items were safely on the table he turned his attention back to the woman, throwing a brief glance at Midna to help him out with asking for the sword.
"Ask!" Midna whispered to him with a nudge.
"The sword?" Link requested.
"Oh yeah, it's here" She stated with a click of her fingers, walking over to one of the counter tops to pick up the sword before handing it to him.
"Please take care of yourself out there Link, I dont want to lose you the way we lost Ilia..." She sighed solemnly.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. I have picked up a lot of tricks on my travels." He assured her.
With that being said, they bid farewell to the gentle woman and headed on their way. Mounting Epona once again, Link paused for a moment as he had no idea where to go next. So far everything had been simple and straightforward, but now that he had gotten himself a sword, found Epona and laid Ilia to rest, he was unsure of what they should tackle next.
"Link, we should ride through Hyrule and if we see any Goblins, you take them out." Midna told him.
He nodded in understanding, gripping Epona's reigns ready to lead them out of Ordon Village.
"Problem is... the mirror of Twilight was blocked by some dark magic that only the master sword can break, so we can't enter right now." Midna went silent for a moment but then her face lit up as she thought of an idea.
"Link! You need to find the legendary blade.. without it we can't remove the shadow that blocks the mirror. We need to get back to the Castle as soon as possible." She informed him.
Once again, Link nodded in understanding. Gripping the reigns tightly, his expression became focused before he tugged on them.
"Hiyyaaa." He called out as Epona began to move back in the direction they had came, trotting at first but then breaking into a gallop.
They had a long journey ahead of them, and it was vital that they got to the castle as soon as possible. Luckily, the day had just begun and sun was still rising so they had all day to keep going. To get back where it all started, they would have to pass Kakariko and go across the Hyrule bridge that had been rebuilt from scratch after Zant and Ganon's last attack.
"At this speed we should be arriving in Castle town around afternoon." Midna informed him.
But when they reached the end of Faron Woods and exited, Epona stopped suddenly as though she was frightened of something.
"What? We cant stop now Link!" Midna scolded but when she looked around, she could see six goblins right in front of them blocking the road as they paced around with their clubs in their hands.
Link moved quickly, making Epona move forward and go barrelling into them, at the same time he unsheathed his sword and swung it killing two of them while Epona trampled the rest enabling them to keep moving forward. Once they had long passed the goblins they decided to stop briefly for a small break to catch their breath.
It was not long before their journey continued though. With the life of a Knight, this was the normal routine for Link. There had never been much time to stop in between the many quests that he had been sent on. It was rare for him to have a moment to enjoy the beauty of his surroundings or to stop in a village and get to know people... probably one of the many reasons why he had very few friends besides Midna.
"We must keep moving Link, if we are going to reach Castle town today." Midna encouraged every time he began to slow down.
He thought of something to ask her about but instead just nodded and continued to lead Epona through the field. A little while later they could finally see Castletown in the not so far off distance.
"Link, look!" Midna exclaimed, pointing to a huge Goron stood near the entry gates to the town as though it were a guard.
As soon as he saw the town and castle though, a look of determination became present in his eyes and before Midna could say anything, he was already galloping towards the entrance at lightening speed. The Gorons may look like a scary race, most of them were pretty chilled and easy to get past. Link knew a few of them personally too, which was an advantage to them now.
He couldn't believe that they had made it to the Castle Town in just one day. This was his best timing yet, and even with taking a little break. Both his pride, and his patience with this quest increased just a little.
Now it was time to find the Master Sword and hopefully gain access to the Mirror of Twilight.
