Official Description
Born every one hundred or so years, the Screaming Death has all the strengths of its subordinate cousin, the Whispering Death, with none of its weaknesses. It is the most powerful dragon Berk has faced since the Red Death. Unlike the Whispering Death, this dragon has no aversion to sunlight. In fact, young Screaming Deaths are drawn to bright light. Attraction to light wears off as the dragon gets older. It shoots large spines from its tail and can breathe massive amounts of fire in a single blast, but the Screaming Death's real strength is its insatiable appetite. Like the Whispering Death, the Screaming Death likes to tunnel, consuming sea stacks and decimating entire islands. An adolescent Screaming Death nearly destroyed the town of Berk, and when it to adulthood, it nearly ate all of Dragon Island (along with five other islands before that). You can't really defeat the Screaming Death. It's too fast, too angry, too powerful. The best you can hope to do is find a way to lure it somewhere else. Screaming Deaths ALWAYS eventually return to their place of birth to nest. Despite the distances that may separate them, Screaming Deaths remain acutely aware of the well-being of their Whispering Death mothers. So if you want to stay on a Screaming Death's good side, don't insult its mother! A long, long time ago, it was noted that the Screaming Death only hatches every 100 years. Well this note seems to be right... One beautiful day, Hiccup and Astrid (Hiccstrid) decided to take a little stroll when Astrid tripped over what seemed to be an egg. They both examined this egg looking rock and it turns out that it was an egg all along. Every step they took, kept finding more and more eggs and without hesitation, they started picking them up. After gathering them all, with a little help from Toothless and Stormfly, they returned back campus and gathered a meeting for all of us, SoD staff, to attend. We all thought it would be best if Heather took a look at the eggs before we made any conclusions on what type of dragon egg it could be. With lots of research, it was clear that these were Screaming Death eggs, which could also be confused to a Whispering Death egg. It has been about 100 years since the last Screaming Death eggs were hatched, so its about that time again! Help us welcome the SCREAMING DEATH back to earth! This dragon is one of the BIGGEST dragons that we have had in SoD and we couldn't be more excited welcome them into our family! It has the ability to attack with fireballs, sink islands, and fly right through sea stacks, which could help any of you Vikings in tough situations! Helpful tip-keep your Screaming Death happy by exposing them to bright light.
The appearance of a Screaming Death egg is very similar to a Whispering Death egg because the Screaming Death is apparently 'just' a mutant Whispering Death. The only difference is that a Screaming Death egg is larger and is colored white with red spots.
In my version screaming death eggs come from screaming deaths not whispering deaths.
Hatchling to Adult
The Screaming Death is a heavily mutated, albino Whispering Death. It is white in color, has large red eyes, a longer and a more massive body, and larger tail than the 'average' Whispering Death. It also has three rows of teeth, but they are aligned differently than those of the Whispering Death, set in a chin reminiscent of a Red Death. They have rows of frilly spines that line the edges of its unsegmented underbelly. Despite the Screaming Death's size, its wings are only the size of a Scauldron's. This is because it uses its excessively long tail as a sort of rotor.
A regular Screaming Death can induce fear in any Viking, but the Titan Screaming Death will leave even the strongest of Vikings paralyzed! This Boulder Class titan now bears bigger and sharper teeth, perfect for burrowing under any island that comes across their way, along with an explosive roar!" —Titan Wing
Titan Wing Screaming Deaths are larger, with more spines on their bodies. They have red stripes on their wings and gray backs. They also have more teeth and a grayish face.
