I woke up to odd chirping.
"Lots to do today sunshine, let's go!" Rae cheered, taking me by the hand. When we got to the carriages, I was surprised to see bikes instead. They looked like motorcycles but... Odd.
"A beauty, isn't she?" Luana beamed, "they're mainly produced in Sergei, but these were gifted to me."
"Ooo," I commented, admiring the sleek woodwork.
"And we're going on a huugggeeee shopping spree today, especially since you need clothes," Neo added. I groaned a little bit.
I hopped on with Luana, holding onto her like my life depended on it as we flew -the motorcycles flew- down different roadways into Wright.
The streets were lined with buildings, most having vines growing from them.
"Holy crap!" I gasped as I saw all the stores.
"And you'll get anything you want sweetie, Eris is gonna be our sugay today," Luana told me as we parked, "now after you."
~~~~~~Several hours of shopping later~~~~~~
I sipped seri for the first time in weeks. It still melted my taste buds.
"Mmm we should save some room for the Sergei food," Luana commented after finishing a spaget platter. The rest agreed and we got back on the motorcycles (I learned from Remus that they call them an oldere).
The riding took a couple more hours, but once we got to Sergei we were surrounded by guards.
"State your business," one demanded. Remus went to the front.
"To travel, to purchase, and to visit family," he stated calmly. The guard kept his weapon up.
"Remus dear, you're too nice," Luana told him before barking, "drop your weapons private!"
The guard flinched before regaining his posture again, "and who are you to speak to me in this tone?"
Luana straightened up before replying, "I am Luana Burton, third child of five-star General Ceres Burton and ex-commander Caelus Burton. This here is the third son of Duke Kirin and Duchess Sylvia. Now with kind regards from the Magmy Academy, in which we attend, let us through."
The silence that followed was making it difficult to breath.
He reluctantly let us through.
Hot damn.
"Why are we visiting here again? It creeps me out..." Neo commented as they hid behind me.
"We have precious metals perfect for jewelry and accessories in general. Now let's find a pub where I can get changed before any of my uncles see me," Remus responded.
"Why would they..?" I asked, trailing off when I saw Neo shake their head.
"Form of conduct," Lyn whispered to me as she passed by into a welding shop. I looked around to see everything from the typical swords to hunting arrows to olderes to accessories.
Lyn somehow managed to look at them all without cracking under the gaze from the guard. Turning around she said, "I'd like this one please."
"That'll be 500 rebs," the shopkeep grunted. Lyn raised an eyebrow before putting some money on the counter.
"Keep the change" was all she responded as she took me by the hand and led me to other stores.
"Are you o-"
"500 rebs is ridiculous for these... They're not even genuine," Lyn interrupted. Her pace quickened and her hand began to shake, letting go of me in the process.
"Lyn, slow down!" I called out, trying desperately to not lose her. I don't think she heard me.
Unwilling to be alone in this world, I became blinded as I began to move faster and faster, shoving more people than I would've normally. Some yelled after me, others learned to step aside.
One person grabbed me, and we flew to the top of a building. I began to fight them, pushing and worming my way around.
"R! R! CHILL OUT! You're okay," a familiar voice hollered, grasping my shoulders lightly as I sank to my knees.
My breaths became more and more rapid as the adrenaline wore off. My vision returned and I saw Neo with a green-haired teen beside them.
Neo was kneeling in front of me, grasping my hands and trying to get me back on my normal cycle of breathing. The teen was watching the passerbys below.
It took a couple of minutes for my heart rate to go back to normal. When it did, I thanked them.
"Of course. I don't get why Lyn took off like that and left you alone, especially with your circumstance..." Neo trailed off.
"Who that?" I asked, pointing at the other kid.
They turned around and looked at me like I was revolting. I swallowed.
"I'm Parker, Neo's cousin. Who are you?" they fired back.
"A friend of your cousin," I replied. They tsked before beckoning Neo over. They talked in hushed voices.
I sat there and waited for them to be done, staring at the smoke-filled sky.
I hope Mari's okay.
