My name is Kayle Elise (Rite) Deltrius. I am the wife of Jerick Deltrius, and Mother toElizabeth Deltrius. I became a fully turned vampire at the age of twenty-two, and my husbandbecame a fully turned werewolf at the age of twenty-five. For me to tell our story I need to goback thirteen years. We were juniors in high school when we met. Like most strangers, we didn'tget along. That entire year we had butt heads and fought and argued.
Come our senior year both of us had made up for the way we acted the year before. Jerickaccepted me for who I was and never held anything I ever said to him to heart. After graduationthere was a time we grew distant, which is common. This one memory I hold very dearly to me,but it also pains me. While I was at work one night there was a young college student who cameinto the cafe and talked to the manager about this woman he had been in love with since highschool.
I knew deep down that it was all too familiar a voice and that story, so I went to see whoit was. To my utter amazement, it was Jerick sitting at the bar. My boss gave me the time to listento his troubles, which I was thankful for. I learned he had moved in with his childhood friend andher mother; with whom he was in love with. Suppressing my own emotions made it rather difficult totell him the lies I didn't want to tell him.
Every time something came up the first place he'd come to visit was my job, which mademe feel a little relief. Of course, my vampiric genes had already started to make changes. Asmore time passed it slowly became noticeable something about me was changing. I forcedmyself not to say a word to Jerick about what I was becoming, and the cost it would take if herejected me. Several months before he finished college, Jerick made the choice to sacrifice hislove for his childhood friend's mom to salvage their friendship.
In the process, Jerick ended up getting hurt and sent me into a near berserk state, finishing my transformation. Jerick accepted my change and over two years began to love me thesame way I loved him. It took me nearly two years to learn how to keep myself composed whileout in public. A year after that Jerick and I had talked about possibly getting married. A shorterend to that story you should already know.
This brings us here, five years later. Marko and Nora never found any answers as to howJerick could be turned back human from the enraged wolf form that he's trapped in. TheWerewolf and Vampire head councils have been all but destroyed when the civil war and warbroke out due to Jerick and I's marriage. Which at the time was considered taboo. I was alsopregnant before this happened to him, and now our daughter goes to see her father every chanceshe can.
It has become rather difficult to answer a five-year-old's question about when "Daddy'sgoing to come back?" I find myself crying myself to sleep most nights. I've cried more crimsontears in the last five years than I had three years before that. During work one morning Marko,Nora, and I got an odd encrypted message saying they knew a way to get Jerick back to hishuman form at a cost to him of course. After five long years, I was willing to accept anything aslong as I got my husband back. And this is where my story really begins.
