well, i'm going to answer that question.
i'm sad 99% of the time and the only thing that will help is either reading or writing fanfic
also, this chapter will kind of knock out byakuya, he's not rlly an important character in this specific one, but he'll be back next story
i think he'll have a couple lines here, but i came up with this 2mins ago so idk yet
aLSO this fits in with the mega super among us imposter story i wrote on a completely different thing (that actually happened in this story 🤯) and that's why noria's here

kayama's best friend, noria, had showed up randomly. either she was bored, or she missed kayama.

a week prior, they had gotten into a fight, and had only said a few things to each other since then.

"hey byakuya, can you go upstairs or somewhere for a second?" kayama asked.
"sure," togami answered.

"why can't he be here?" noria questioned.

"i never formally apologized for flying off the handle at you last week."

"and why does he need to leave for that? if i text you the next day, i'm over and done with it. give yourself some credit, you were in a bad state of mind."

"i know, but i just felt bad. seriously, i felt so bad that i was crying over vegetables just a few hours ago."

"vegetables? what does that have to do with me?"

"i guess i thought i could've fed a starving kid with them, but they'd be going to two people with an overabundance of money. i was just upset."
"interesting."
"i don't know, i just think of stuff like that. at the worst times, too. like one time i was at one of byakuya's really important things and i remembered i kissed some weirdo at a party in seventh grade, and then i started laughing. loudly."
"ohh, i remember that. i think i dared you to play spin the bottle."
"yeah, i never got my $20."

"okay, anyway, what else did you have to say?" noria asked worried.
"i just want to say, i don't want to lose you. i worried for this whole week that you'd never want to talk to me again because i didn't apologize," kayama replied sheepishly.
"leah, i will never stop being there for you. you're like my sister, it wouldn't be the same without you."
"you're one of the closest things i have to real family, ones that i see more than twice a year."
"thank you. really, i appreciate it."
"you're welcome."

"came out here to check on our stuff," togami said as he rushed down the marble staircase.
"not here," kayama frowned.

"genuine question 'kuya, have you ever dyed your hair?" noria asked.
"my god, use that nickname one more time and you'll get it. no, i haven't. i think it's one of the most imbecilic things you can do," togami replied sternly.

"that sucks, because i was thinkin' that we could dye part of your hair green. you like green, right?" she added.
"i don't hate it, but i wouldn't want to dye my hair green. or any color."

"but you have the perfect canvas to do it!"
"no. nope, no, never."
"fine."

"you wanna know what she did in middle school?" kayama asked.
"sure, it's probably idiotic, so yes," togami said.

"so she bleached her hair, which might i add was super long, and then she dyed it purple — lilac, and pink. and we thought she was so cool," kayama laughed.
"you? there was no you, i was all for it, you just asked me what i did to my hair."
"well still, i got used to it, but then you cut it all off and went brunette."
"it was mid-length."
"same thing."

all three of them laughed and talked and reminisced.
although none of them were blood related, it felt like it.
they were like a whole family.
family.
family.

noria had decided to have a sleepover with kayama and togami, and they weren't tired.

"i should take a shower," kayama said, clinging onto togami.
"both of us should," he responded, slightly kissing her.
"well, what one are you using?"
"master. how about you."
"i was gonna go for master, but now i might go off guest."
"we could always go in together."
"what? this is the second time today that you have proposed something that is mind boggling."
"well, it was kind of just an out loud thought, you don't have to."
"oh, i'll try it."
"bet."
